Despite claims that ‘Frontier Miles is about to get even more rewarding’ Frontier has announced changes that are largely negative for consumers.

  • Status requirements will change:
    • Silver status will require 15,000 status points (was 10,000)
    • Gold status will require 25,000 status points (was 20,000)
    • Platinum status will require 50,000 status points (remains the same)
    • Diamond status will require 75,000 status points (was 100,000)
  • Big negative changes by tier, e.g no seat selection without bundle etc
  • Points earning will be reduced for most people. Cardholders earn an additional 5x on the below
    • Member: 1x  (6x with bundle), was 10x
    • Silver: 3x (8x with bundle), was 8x
    • Gold: 5x (10x with bundle), was 14x
    • Platinum: 7x (12x with bundle), was 16x
    • Diamond 11x (16x with bundle), was 20x

Not a huge surprise that Frontier is making its loyalty program worse after Spirit filed bankruptcy and removed competition.
