JetBlue had proposed a $3.8 billion purchase of Spirit but the DoJ argued that the deal was anti competitive and would be bad for cost-conscious travelers that rely on Spirit’s low fares. JetBlue & Spirit said they disagreed with the ruling and would evaluate next steps.
