- Activate offer and get 40% off products on Amazon.com when you use Citi ThankYou points at checkout. Max discount $50. Valid through 12/31/26.
Key Details:
- Must use a minimum of 125 points ($1). No need to pay for the entire purchase with points.
- Does not seem to be working on gift cards this time around (2025).
- This does work for third-party sellers, e.g. items sold by third-party which are shipped by Amazon. (Does not need to be ‘shipped and sold by Amazon’.)
- You should be able to use this on multiple small purchases until you exhaust the $50/$30 dollar limit.
Our Verdict
Nice to see the ThankYou version come back with excellent savings here. You can stack this with Cyber Monday deals on Amazon.
Try linking your Citi card and then check back after 24 hours to see if the offer shows. Also try unlinking and then relinking a couple days later and then check back to see if it shows up.

Worked for me on Citi ThankYou Card (formerly ShopYourWay) I activated this on my Custom Cash Card then clicked through to Amazon from the use your points on Amazon section of the rewards portal for my ThankYou Card, activated pay with points and got the discount on my TY card.
Yes I was targeted this round but not the last with less than 125 points
I have the 40% offer on using my strata premier. I tried to purchase a kindle but it wouldn’t apply the discount and it tried to use all of my reward points (the toggle to automatically apply points is off). There was no option to just use 125 points.
Anybody with under 125 points get targeted? I have 3 accounts and didn’t get it on any, wondering if this is the reason. Should have 125 points after next statement in a few days though.

That’s not the case. My wife’s Custom Cash card works just fine with shop with points. Unfortunately she isn’t targeted for the promotion.
Think the promo is on my acct, but it’s a new card for me, so I don’t have any pts to use yet (of course). My cycle will end before the promo ends however, so maybe I still can get it to work before the month is up. Question though — says to use 125 pts… is that per purchase, or just total? Such as if I use 125 pts for a small purchase, will I need to use 125 for the next one, until I reach the max payabe?
2 of 2 redeemed(custom cash). I was due to churn a $50 Target debit card. However, with that offer dead, this came in handy. No dice in the Citi ThankYou Card (formerly ShopYourWay)
I don’t understand. I added my Citi custom cash card, but it doesn’t even let me enroll in the use-points-to-shop program (forgetting about qualifying for the program). Do I have to wait more than a day after I added the card?
