Newest-first by default, because “is it still working?” matters most.

If by quid pro quo donation you mean that the miles have value and you must take that into account for any tax deduction, yes.

RA

How? Also, these 0.6cpp buying methods require cards you can no longer apply for, right?

AL

Interesting. I was offered 25 miles, not 50

It works to keep miles alive. That’s the main reason I do it.

Concerned Citizen#2390423

SU2C is yet another sham organization created by the Epstein adjacent people to launder money by the way.

RI

I wouldn’t buy AA Miles at 2 cpp especially without proper loyalty points earned. With Citi, you can effectively get AA Miles at 0.6 cpp if you have enough Citi Custom Cash or Citi ThankYou (Former Citi Sears).

Those are considered incidental benefit because the goods (mug and tote) are considered “goods of insubstantial value. Membership admissions can also fall into that bucket sometimes.

I received tax receipt for full donation

CH
Chrisk#2390256

Well, I assume they had to stand up, instead of sitting down. Nothing much otherwise.

per form 990 (2024) – CEO was making $350k+. The executive team (13) was making $3.3 million of their $34M contributions/revenue. ~$29.5M made it to grants with AACR getting about $8.4M, with a variety of hospitals and (mostly) universities getting the remaining $

Good. I’ll keep your miles active as well

Holding up signs to honor dead or dying relatives, obviously

If you receive something for your donation, its value is not legally tax deductible. Your $100 donation to NPR is only deductible to the extent that is value exceeds the value of the tote bag or mug you get.

I asked AI for us: Major Scientific Breakthrough: Pediatric & Adult Cancers: Delivered landmark treatments and approvals for pediatric cancers, breast cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and prostate cancer. Immunotherapy & Vaccines: Advanced trials utilizing machine learning to design patient-specific neoantigen RNA vaccines and successful tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy for advanced lung cancer. Reduced Relapse Rates: Supported trials combining radiation and immunotherapy for sarcomas that demonstrated significant drops in the risk of relapse.

Did you try googling it? SU2C has fueled a diverse range of innovative research projects, and contributed to a series of additional scientific breakthroughs, including therapies for breast cancer , lung cancer , melanoma, pancreatic cancer , pediatric cancer, sarcoma, and advanced colorectal and prostate cancers. This includes more than 11 scientific breakthroughs [14] like FDA-approved treatments, palbociclib (Breast Cancer Dream Team), and abraxane plus gemcitabine (Pancreatic Cancer Dream Team). [15]

What has SU2C achieved, other than awareness goals? Serious question

BU
Burt#2390114

Well, I thought one could donate below $75. Why is this not working? Does this fall under quid pro quo donation?

NI
niadnf#2390098

also, birds aren’t real. wake up sheeple

SN
Snake River#2390096

It’s unlikely to be deductible in any event, as they value the miles at 3 cents apiece. Either way, this is an awful deal unless you urgently need a few points toward a redemption.

CH
ChurnosaurusRex#2390082

This would be absolutely amazing if it weren’t OBBA absolutely destroying donation deductions

SC
scott#2390065

Can’t believe it’s that time of year again.

MS

Donated during the 50x promotion. My 50x miles posted yesterday or the day before.

RO
robertw#2122919

At 3 cents a mile no less. Therefore the initial 50 miles per dollar values the miles at a greater value than the donation. Therefore no deduction whatsoever .

RO
robertw#2122917

As long as you know that per tax laws the value of the moles needs to be deducted from the donation itself. If you get something like miles you cant just forget about that part of the trnsaction. I am sure plenty thingk they can merely deduct the “donation”.

Great response. I love when people come up with crazy stuff about taxes and accounting.
