Our Verdict
The personal card increase were as expected based on the leaked links, discussed prior. These are great offers with the added cash component (albeit the mileage component not the highest we’ve seen). The business cards offer is the regular increase we’ve seen before on the Gold and Platinum. The new Reserve business offer is excellent.
We’ll add these to our list of Best Current Credit Card Bonuses.

When did you close the card? It takes like a month or something to clear Amex’s system, less than that and you have to initiate a manual review. When that happened to me front line reps were utterly useless, however the denial letter a few days later from Amex had a different number to call and they looked at my accounts manually and re-submitted it or something and I got approval notice an hour or so later.
Nope, this was an instant approval (soft credit check as an existing Amex cardholder). No pop up but no mention of the welcome offer on the approval page.
Did you have to wait for approval? I had a player who had the wait message on a bonvoy brilliant and few days later got this email. When he went to accept it, the bonus showed and he didn’t get a pop up.
Yeah, that caught my eye too. Anybody know if you can update them or are you locked into the Comfort class?
No pop up means you’re good. Pop up rules all
The two round trip comfort flights seems like a great deal in my situation..have a pretty inflexible vacation planned at a time when prices are super inflated am I missing something or I can book a round trip ticket NYC <-> Puerto Rico that currently has a $1.2k cash price? seems pretty good
Just to clarify, this is specifically for the Business card
I applied for the Delta Platinum Business through a referral link. I was approved and received the message below, but I’m not sure if I’m eligible for the 100k welcome offer. I didn’t get any pop-ups or anything. Congratulations! You’re approved. Final Step: Accept your Card below! There has been no impact to your personal credit score up to this point. If you choose to accept the Card, the information we provide to credit bureau(s) may impact your personal credit score. If your business has a business credit score, there may be an impact to it as a result of having submitted your application. If no action is taken within 7 days, your application will be considered withdrawn and cancelled. Can anyone help clarify before I decide to accept or withdraw the offer?
When I login to my Amex account and go to the list of new card offers, I see ’60k+$300′ on the personal Delta platinum and the 200k offer on the biz reserve. I tried applying for the former logged out on an ‘up to 90k’ screen and then tried for the biz reserve logged in… both cases got pop up jail. Am I out of luck? I’m not too surprised about the personal card not working out, though I thought it’d come back with the lower offer. I am surprised about the business one not working out.
Best Ever Offer on Delta Amex Reserve – Earn 2 Round Trip Delta Comfort Flights + 50K Miles After $10K Spend in 6 Months: [removed referral spam]
Which card?
I got the same decline, closed a card and still got the same message. I’m not sure the error is right
Every program has value in the right spot. In this game, the most valuable currency is all of them at different times. Except Etihad. Those really are stupid and useless.
Are there 6 virgin cards to.obtain with constant nll offers?
didn’t know there was a nll marriott?? Which one was that, can you direct me to it?
is there a way to get the 70k +$200 offer on biz delta gold without having a skymiles biz account through delta? i saw a post somewhere that the author was able to get the dummy booking offer on a biz gold but ithink they had to do it booking from their skymiles biz account. i only have and only want a personal skymiles acct.
Would the pop-up show before a decline? It rejected because I had too many cards open which isn’t correct as I just closed one but there was no pop-up does that mean if I call them and they check and approve it that it’s not subject to the pop-up and I will get the bonus?
I am not defending Delta SkyMiles. Rather I am just pointing out partner flights are not as available and when they are, there are fewer. I tried to do DTW-JFK round trip for 11/14-11/21. Virgin had no availability from 11/13-11/15. And the days it did have availability it had three flights versus 22. And Delta had four non-stops versus two for Virgin. Yes, Virgin can save you a lot on points but if they don’t have flights available on that day and far less space their utility is limited. As I said, this is not defending anyone, these are just totally cold facts.
I was approved for the gold card. I closed one in 11/2025. no Pop up
Just booked my return BOS-DTW. Delta wanted 32,200 miles + $5.60 for a $424 ticket (1.3¢/mi). Virgin Atlantic had the exact same Delta flight for 11,000 miles + $5.60 (3.8¢/pt)—saving over 21,000 miles for the same seat. Sure, partner saver space is tighter, but when it’s gone, Delta’s dynamic pricing is usually high anyway. I expect people to defend SkyPesos on the Delta subreddit, but seeing folks on DoC make excuses against using a partner program to save triple the points is wild. LOL.
The redemption is 7500 miles and $6 tax exactly what you pay out of pocket. There’s no extra charge and I still get free luggage since I have the Delta Amex Gold.
Aside from the comments below about pricing, it is simply a fact that availability through Virgin is vastly lower than directly through Delta. While booking reward flights through partners is a valid strategy at times it is not a 100% replacement for booking directly.
Sorry, I thought the question is about the companion certificate.
You lost me as soon as you brought up Virgin Atlantic with their very expensive extra charges and fees. I will pass on both of them.
It should tell you if you are eligible
Nah, just booked a direct flight yesterday from DTW to JFK for an afternoon departure in November. Delta SkyMiles wanted 12,000 miles + $6 in taxes, and that’s with the Delta Amex 15% award discount already baked in. Booking that exact same Delta metal flight through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club cost just 7,500 miles + $5 in taxes. On a $209 cash fare, that’s 1.69¢ per mile via Delta versus 2.72¢ per point via Virgin—meaning Delta demanded 60% more miles for the exact same Main Cabin seat on the exact same plane. Factor in the frequent 20% to 30% transfer bonuses from Chase or Amex to Virgin Atlantic, and that seat drops to as low as 6,000 transferable points. And for the record, I happen to be one of those travelers who regularly books long-haul First and Business Class awards to Japan. Trust me, those of us who know how to unlock premium cabin sweet spots know how to fly domestic economy far better than anyone too lazy to do basic award math. Anyone who blindly drinks the Delta Kool-Aid and thinks getting 1.4¢–1.6¢ is a solid deal is getting taken for a ride. This is precisely why “SkyPesos” remains the right name. When an airline’s own loyalty currency is heavily devalued and consistently outpriced on its own aircraft by partner programs, it behaves like hyperinflated fiat currency. Sticking with Delta miles just because it’s easy doesn’t make it a good deal—it just proves the moniker is well deserved.
so you’re saying they don’t enforce this part: “ The Basic Card Member to whom the Certificate is issued must be listed as a passenger on the reservation.” ?
Yes many may be chasing biz class but at the same time many come here salivating over 50 cents savings on gas so domestic economy tickets are nothing to sneeze at. I understand for some Delta doesn’t work but for the ease of getting the points and the fact that booking on points especially when paired with the 15% off AMEX cards give you on said points it’s a damn good deal. It’s not like I’m offended by the term skypeso lol in fact I find it amusing but the way I see it thrown around forums I can tell those people don’t use or understand how great of a value they actually are. Also just as a side note I’m also using them to book Comfort and occasionally first when it’s worth it.
Business gives an extra 50$ on the deltastays credit.
Much better value with economy. 35k miles from LAX to HND and I’m not talking basic economy. Also 35k to SYD. These flights are expensive if paying cash.
