they said, they wont in another comment. Why so? bilt or we do rakuten CC already
I feel like theres a work around for this that delineates credit card earnings from Rove Miles. Like a cashback card that allows you to buy Rove miles. To stay within their current operating model, they already allow you to boost miles at checkout. For instance a $200 plane ticket you can 10x your miles (2,000 miles) for $29 . If the card earned 2x points on all purchases, and you could boost 100x (20,000) for 10k “points/cashback”, it wouldnt be so bad.
The reason why Rove has been able to get some unique partners that no one else has is because they aren’t attached to a bank or credit card, a lot of programs have exclusions that they can’t work outside their official bank partner ex American can only work with Citi Bank. They were only able to get Miles & More while no one else can because of this reason.
I think that was the original plan for the program and they pivoted for some reason, can’t remember the specifics.
Too early in the game. Let them mature. Let them demonstrate a sustainable platform. Keep their eye on the ball. Only then consider it.
I think it’s time Rove launches a credit card. They have some unique partners and with a reasonable annual fee and a good earning structure, I think there would be a lot of interest.
