The Offer

Direct link to offer (our affiliate link)

  • Citi is offering up to $25 in Amazon gift cards when you redeeem Citi ThankYou points for Amazon purchases.
    • Redeem $20 in ThankYou points and earn a $10 gift card
    • Redeem $125 in ThankYou points and earn a second gift card worth $15

Our Verdict

These Amazon Shop with Points deals are getting progressively worse and worse. You’d need to redeem 2,500 points to trigger the $10 gift card (so basically redeem 2,500 points and get $30 in gift cards) and 15,625 points for the $15 gift card (so redeeming 15,625 points for a total of $150 in giftcards). Personally I’d just skip this offer and hope you get a better one in the future.

Nvm, got email later in the day yesterday (subject line “Citi ThankYou Points sent you an Amazon Gift Card!”), and a line item was indeed showing on the ledger for the $10 auto-added to my Amazon gift card balance.

For me it has now been >30 days since I redeemed 2,500 Citi points for an Amazon $20 gift card balance reload. And of course, Amazon has not given me the promised $40 Amazon gift card. The link for a long time has showed the message, “ Congrats! You’ve earned a $10 Amazon Gift Card.” (and top progress bar full green). Has this happened for anyone else?
