These portal bonuses are always nice. As always, check portal rates before deciding which to use.

You are not imagining things. I saw the $600 spend requirement and was wondering whether i should pull the trigger on a gift card or not. Now I see the 1200 spend and it seems like a hard NO for me.
I’m tempted to look into Alaska because I can’t get the Summit card yet (I’m 5/24 till 2027). Oh also I didn’t get approved for alaska biz card
Coincidentally I had one on June 20th that also did not track in the Southwest Shopping portal, but the points were awarded after I submitted a claim. Others that I did in July did track correctly. All were Visa gift card purchases.
Yes, buying gift cards at giftcards .com triggers the points. I buy Visa gift cards there every time Southwest has a shopping portal bonus, and have also used United, American, and Alaska on occasion, along with Rakuten, Kudos and Capital One shopping portals depending on which has the best offer. On a rare occurrence it doesn’t track, but I have always gotten those after submitting a ticket. The one thing I have found no longer works is that you do no longer get points if the payment method on giftcards .com is a giftcard .com Gift card (which can be bought at Office Supply stores, or like the free $10 gift card they sometimes offer with purchase of $100 of another gift card. If using that as payment, that portion does not count as spend, when it did as recent as 6 months ago.
Even Chewy updated their terms so that prescription foods are no longer eligible.
Is there anything that is profitable to flip on there? I see this recommended by MEAB every time these portal promos come out. But it sounds like visas do not track and using promo codes will cause it to also not track. So I do not see the MS angle.
I see everyone replying yes to you, but I’m confused. Are you talking about giftcards.com being one of the merchants in the portal? Or are you saying you’re making purchases at various merchants through the portal using visa giftcards from gitcards.com that you bought direct without the portal? I was thinking it was the first thing, but I don’t see giftcards.com as a merchant.
Did the spend requirement increase from earlier this week? I could have swore the AA portal was 2500 point bonus for spending $600. Now it is $1200. 🤔
Years ago these shopping portals were highly lucrative for me to acquire half a million AA miles combined household and work spend. More difficult now. No Walmart. No Target. No Safeway/Albertsons. Bestbuy has restrictions on everything. Fewer streaming services. Dell awards on laptops have been lame for months. Even over this weekend Lowe’s was dropped.
Yes. Visa purchase amount listed in visits but not transactions. A later non-Visa purchase credited in transactions.
yes to all
In my experience, yes on Atmos, AA and United. Never tried Southwest.
Always has worked for me.
Through the Southwest Shopping Portal, giftcards.com triggered the bonus for me as recently as Dec2025, but a recent June 20th attempt/purchase did not ultimately get logged as a “Recent Transaction” and I did not get that bonus Wondering if anyone else has had recent luck as well
does giftcards.com usually trigger these to work or is it excluded since its “gift cards”?
And here I am having used all my Lululemon credits four days ago. Oh well. I got 3.5x on AA at least.
Added Southwest, Delta, and American
The Southwest shopping portal has a bonus as well. 2,500 bonus points for $500 spend.
