  • Bonus will be deposited within 6 weeks of enrolling for paperless statements
  • Bonus may be reported as income and you might receive a 1099-MISC tax form
  • Limit of one paperless checking bonus per customer, per per bonus per calendar year

Our Verdict

Even if you’ve already opted in for paperless statements, it’s possible to get this deal. Here’s how:

  • Log into your account normally, turn paperless statements off
  • Log in using the promotional link and then paperless statements on
  • Earn $5 bonus

If you have a Chase checking account then this seems like an easy $5 plus you’re doing something positive for the environment. Sending out paper statements is also surprisingly expensive for financial institutions so it’s fairly common to see these types of promos fairly regularly. If you don’t already have a Chase checking account, then I’d recommend reading this post which has a round up of what’s currently available.

It might also be possible to double dip this offer by enrolling now, then unenrolling sometime in early 2015 and re-enrolling as this bonus is one per calendar year.
