The Offer
- Receive a $150 sign up bonus when you open an EveryDay Checking account with SunTrust Bank using the promotional code SUNNYEDC15OL. You must also receive a single qualifying direct deposit of at least $1,000 within 60 days to be eligible. You also need to check the Special Offer box on the second application page
The Fine Print
- Only available to new SunTrust clients (SunTrust clients who closed a personal checking account within 180 days of the promotion start date will not be eligible for the promotional rewards)
- Qualifying direct deposits are: salary, pension, Social Security, or other regular monthly income electronically deposited into your account by your employer or an outside agency
- Must open with at least $100 and have a balance of at least $1 when the bonus posts
- Bonus will post within 10 weeks after receiving the qualifying direct deposit
- Limit of one per household
- You must pay taxes on all banking bonuses

Everyday Checking $7 Monthly Fee
You can avoid the $7 monthly fee by having a minimum daily balance of $500 or more, or receiving a payroll direct deposit of $100 or more.
Early Account Termination Fee
If you cancel your account within six months, they will charge an early account termination fee of $25
Our Verdict
SunTrust almost always offer a bonus of some description on their checking accounts, the most recent offer was for $100/$200 (but they’ve had a bonus of $300 in store). Personally I’d recommend waiting until the $200 bonus comes back, the requirements were slightly harder to meet (direct deposit of $2,000+ and two bill pays) but I think the extra effort is worth it for another $50.
