In September 2025 Primis changed its debit card to earn 1% back instead of $0.5 per purchase. They have alerted cardholders that will change again starting November 5, 2026 and cardholders will earn $0.25 per purchase up to a maximum of $25 per statement cycle.

Beginning November 5, 2026, Perks Checking will earn $0.25 for each debit card point of sale transaction, up to $25 per statement cycle. Rewards will continue to be automatically credited to your account the business day your statement cycle ends for any qualifying debit card purchases that posted and settled to your account by the end of the statement cycle

At the time of the original change I did say I suspect that to be nerfed at some stage as well, I’m only surprise it has taken this long. You can find more rewards debit cards by clicking here.

They are also adding a monthly fee:

No monthly service charge when you maintain a minimum balance of $1,000 ($10 monthly fee if the minimum balance requirement is not met.)

Some other changes:

  • (1) Outgoing domestic wire fee going up from $5 to $10.
  • (2) Returned deposited item going up from $0 to $10. This has happened to me a couple of times where I deposited my own checks from another bank and compliance at the other bank denied payment on the check for no discernible reason.
  • Other changes less relevant to churners: (3) No more ATM fee reimbursement for ATMs outside the MoneyPass network.

Newest-first by default, because “is it still working?” matters most.

In local news : DofC readers flock to racetrack gas stations and pump gas $.25 at a time on the self checkout machines

Primis has also implemented other changes effective Nov. 5, 2026 to its checking accounts that are relevant for churners: (1) Outgoing domestic wire fee going up from $5 to $10. (2) Returned deposited item going up from $0 to $10. This has happened to me a couple of times where I deposited my own checks from another bank and compliance at the other bank denied payment on the check for no discernible reason. Other changes less relevant to churners: (3) No more ATM fee reimbursement for ATMs outside the MoneyPass network.

It’s called a macro. Look up ui.vision and check for videos on youtube if you can’t figure out how to use it.

I don’t see them refunding you ten dollars every time you purchase one

Not automated, but the Delaware tax portal charges no fee and lets you do payments as small as $0.01. Just sayin

Anyone know a way to automate an asswad of $.25 purchases?

Other change is a $5 monthly fee without a $500 minimum balance. Looks like it’s already in effect for new accounts and taking effect in a month for existing accounts (just guessing this because I have not been charged a fee yet).

For me, I simply link all Bill Pay / Auto Pay to a HYSA given I can’t use credit card(Ex: Extra fee) and there is a option to link a saving accpiunt. But of course, debit card cardback serve a somewhat different purpose.

My 1% Discover debit card still works, but probably not for long with the CapOne merger. Too bad about Primis I was hoping it might be a replacement. The 1% debit card works great for rent payments and federal tax payments.
