(Update: added SoFi now)

In light of the recent news about potential ties between Webull and the government of China, Robinhood, SoFi, and Public are offering a 3% bonus to transfer your assets from Webull to their platforms.

The Offer

Robinhood link | SoFi link | Public brokerage link (pdf)

  • Robinhood is offering a 3% bonus (unlimited) for those who ACATS transfer their assets from Webull. The bonus will post quickly, and then you need to keep the funds with Robinhood for 5 years. Offer valid October 7, 2026 through October 16, 2026.
  • SoFi is offering a 3% bonus for those who ACATS transfer their brokerage or IRA assets from Webull, up to $150,000 bonus ($5M in transferred assets). The bonus will post quickly, and then you need to keep the funds with SoFi for 5 years. Offer valid October 8, 2026 through October 15, 2026.
  • Public Brokerage is offering a 3% bonus for those who ACATS transfer their brokerage or IRA assets from Webull, up to $1M bonus ($33.3M in transferred assets). The bonus is paid out over the course of 6 years in 72 monthly increments. Offer valid October 7, 2026 through October 26, 2026.

The Fine Print

  • The Robinhood terms imply that if you leave before 5 years you’ll still keep a portion of the bonus. (“The chargeback amount described above may be reduced based on the customer’s progress toward the five (5)-year holding period.”)
  • With the Public deal, you can leave any time and keep the bonus payments you’ve already received.
  • With SoFi it seems you’ll lose the 3% bonus if you pull money out before the 5-year earn-out, proportionate to the amount you pull out (e.g. if you pull out $1,000 one day before the 5 years is up, you might lose out the full $30 bonus from that $1,000).
  • The SoFi and Public offerings work on both taxable brokerage and IRA accounts while the Robinhood offer is only for taxable brokerage accounts. For IRAs, Public treats the bonus as earnings within the IRA, so it gets the IRA’s tax treatment and won’t affect annual contribution limits. SoFi is less clear on exactly how this will work for IRAs.

Our Verdict

I don’t have any funds at Webull. If I had funds at Webull that weren’t locked into a bonus there, I’d likely jump on one of these offers.

Newest-first by default, because “is it still working?” matters most.

For the 2024 offers, does the 90 day requirement mean if your balance was $100k and got a $1k bonus, you need to maintain a $101k balance for 90 days after the bonus posted? Or just need to maintain a $1k balance and ok to transfer out $100k? (I basically already did that, and forgot about the 90 day part of the terms; hopefully my balance being above the bonus amount is enough; so far they haven’t clawed back the bonus)

You should be able to wire funds into Webull which only have a holding period of 1 day.

You don’t have to trust me, it’s right in the terms. Customer service can confirm. You can’t use WB margin withdrawals if you’ve got future bonus payments (even if they’re already scheduled or in a different account, they’ll cancel them)

According to comments below there’s not enough time

I’m leaving my 2k at webull. The just finished paying me my bonus of $100 and i think that their app is the best of all brokerages that I have seen

Anyone attempt this on Robinhood yet? Before submitting final transfer request, its shows bonus % as 2 and not 3, wondering if they haven’t updated that code yet.

73% since 2024. What did you buy?

I blame schools for leaving people ignorant of history and geography

Wdym? What danger? Like they don’t let you vote for whoever you want and supress your freedom of speech and religion and don’t let you leave the country? But China is good?

I was thinking about doing a targeted $1000 bonus for $100,000 with 6 months lock up with webull before the report came out. I also have an IRA with webull that is locked up for 4 more years 🙁

I fled webull years ago when tiktok was a big issue, but I have to admit, the danger presently comes more from the US government than CCP

I’ve got money in WeBull, but nothing so far seems like I should be running away. Any insight if I’m missing something?

For bonus payment, sofi and robinhood are better as they pay upfront, public is worse as they pay through the 5 years period. For penalty, robinhood and public has similar term, they are all prorated.sofi is worse, as you loose all the match for the withdrawn amount before 5 years holding period. Considering both, Robinhood’s term is the best?

For those who object to the five year hold, here’s how it works with Robinhood: So we will always try to use your unmatched funds first to make the withdrawal and after that we use any portfolio gains and lastly we dig into your matched funds on which you received a bonus. In my case, one portfolio is up 73% since 2/24 and another is up 50%, so I can withdraw a substantial amount without losing the bonus. I was told that they pool IRAs in making their calculations.

I’m still trying to understand how this really affects my account at Webull. Privacy is an illusion in 2026, period. Maybe I’m not smart enough to be afraid or scared.

Ngl forget the bonus and just do Fidelity or Schwab.

Are you the real CFPB General? 🙂

What a TITLE. They require 5 years hold.

I looked into this the other day — SoFi supports mutual funds, Robinhood does not. That was important to me, may not be to you.

Any thoughts on sofi vs robinhood? I don’t do options, and maybe do about 5 stock trades per week. Reviews seem to suggest that they’re both about the same except that RH is better if you’re a day trader or do options.

Sunshine#2431026

Unfortunately, I have my IRA at WeBull. Anyone know a good IRA transfer bonus right now?

JO
John Wet#2430986

There is no bonus that will lock me up for 5 years at any broker. Unless you have your IRA…

JO
John Wet#2430983

They aren’t going bankrupt you’ll be just fine.

CH
Chris#2430980

My main page on the Investing tab has a card advertising the 3% WeBull transfer with a “Claim Bonus” link. The link shows 1% as transfers, but I’m sure they’re just showing their standard offer. robinhood is usually good at showing your bonus before you submit a transfer, so I would think it would show 3% before you submit if you select Webull.

SA
SaverGirl#2430978

RH customer service confirmed I’d get 3%, even though the transfer screen says 1% which is the bonus for non-Webull transfers.

A
A#2430977

Having balance above the SIPC limit, are you jumping ship? (genuinely asking)

TH
Thelen#2430975

They probably would require you to have gold but I’d also chat with a rep. I only had 2% on the transfer process but a rep promised I’d get 3% and to reference the chat number if it was an issue.
