Chase has made a number of changes to existing IHG cards as part of the introduction of the IHG Premier Select card.

Chase has made a number of changes to existing IHG cards as part of the introduction of the IHG Premier Select card.

  • Chase IHG ONE Premier Business card renamed to Chase IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card
    • Annual fee increased to $200 from $99
    • Annual free night certificate good on up to 50,000 points per night (was 40,000)
    • New $100 statement credit for Expensify purchases
    • New $100 in food and beverage reward vouchers at IHG hotels ($25 per quarter)
    • New $100 airline statement credit when you spend $250+ on flights directly through the airline each calendar year
    • United TravelBank credit has been removed
    • 15 elite night credits after sign up and start of each calendar year
  • Chase IHG One Rewards Premier:
    • Annual fee increased to $150 from $99
    • Automatic Platinum Elite status downgraded to Gold Elite
    • Annual free night certificate good on up to 50,000 points per night (was 40,000)
    • New $100 in food and beverage reward vouchers at IHG hotels ($25 per quarter)
    • New $100 airline statement credit when you spend $250+ on flights directly through the airline each calendar year
    • 15 elite night credits after sign up and start of each calendar year
  • Chase IHG One Rewards Travel renamed to IHG One Rewards
    • No annual fee remains
    • 5 elite night credits after sign up and start of each calendar year
    • Starting in 2027 fourth night free benefit will require $5,000 in spend per calendar year
  • No changes reported on the IHG legacy card ($49 annual fee, Platinum Elite status and free night certificate) Looks like at minimum Chase IHG Legacy card will be increased from $49 to $99.

Our Verdict

Annoying that the annual fees have been increased and now you need a flight to trigger the $100 statement credit to offset the changes. Food and beverage vouchers are a pain to use as it’s one per quarter. Yes if you min/max everything then there is increased value but obviously Chase’s model show that there will be enough breakage that it will be profitable for them.
