The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • First Home Bank is offering a bonus of up to $160 when you open a new checking account. Bonus is broken down as follows:
    • $10 for designing your own debit card
    • Use your debit card 50 times per month in June, July, August and receive $50 per month

The Fine Print

  • Registration Required.
  • Offer applies to personal checking accounts only with an active debit card.
  • A qualifying purchase is any point of sale transaction.
  • Offer valid June 1, 2017 thru August 31, 2017.
  • You will receive your bonus, if applicable, within 10 days following each month of the promotional period.
  • The applicable bonus will be reported to the IRS in accordance with applicable law.

Avoiding Fees

The easiest account to keep fee free seems to be the Simply Free Checking account, this has no monthly fees or minimums to worry about. I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so I am not sure if there is any early account termination fee charged or not.

Our Verdict

50 debit card transactions is a lot, even if you’re using our tips to meet those requirements. They recently offered a deal for $250 as well. Personally this offer is a pass from me for those two reasons. You can view all the bonuses we do recommend by clicking here.
