How to Track your Spend Progress toward a Credit Card Signup Bonus

Many banks allow tracking your signup bonus by showing how much progress was made toward the bonus. This tracker is also helpful in confirming that the bonus is properly attached to the account and how much time remains. American Express, Chase, Citi, Capital One, and Wells Fargo all have some form of this progress tracker available, sometimes via email and sometimes within the online login.

Many banks give tools to track your signup bonus by showing how much progress was made toward the bonus. This tracker is also helpful in confirming that the bonus is properly attached to the account and how much time remains. We’ve seen such tools from various banks, and I thought it was worth writing up a dedicated post. Please add anything we’re missing to the comments below and we’ll add it in.

American Express

(Our Original Post) American Express has added a tracker in the login and in the app. Check on the website in the Membership Rewards points dashboard and on the AmEx app on the welcome page, above the Rewards section.

Capital One

Capital One sends out an email at some point along the way with information of how much progress you’ve made for the spend, as well as the number of days remaining, according to reader Jon.

Chase

(Our Original Post) Chase now has a signup bonus tracker in their online login and in app. Go to the points portal > Rewards Activity to see the tracker online; in the app, you should see it when clicking on the card. Not everyone is seeing it as of now, it may still be rolling out.

Citi

Back in 2015, Frequentmiler wrote about Citi’s online signup bonus tracker on cards like American Airlines and Hilton. It’s not clear if they are still offering this tracking system on any card, as of now (March 2019). Citi does send out an email at some point confirming your bonus offer, but without any progress tracking.

Wells Fargo

(Our Original Post) Wells Fargo has a signup bonus tracker which shows all details of your bonus progress and time remaining.
