Some readers sent in that T-Mobile is ending the loophole many use to get the monthly $5 Autopay Discount and still pay with a credit card: They set up their account with debit card or bank payment, then manually pay their balance in full before the scheduled Autopay date. No payment goes on the debit card, yet until now you still got the $5 Autopay discount.

Reports are that they’ve changed this, going forward: any one-time payment made with an ineligible method – even a partial payment – will disqualify the account from receiving the $5 AutoPay discount for that billing cycle.
