Our Verdict

This technically has lifetime language but there are reports that it’s working as a no lifetime language link with no pop up (similar to the Bevy card). Worth doing if you wouldn’t otherwise be eligible, otherwise I’d wait for a better offer to come along. Read these things everybody should know about American Express before applying. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.

Newest-first by default, because “is it still working?” matters most.

This has to be one of the riskiest paths to get banned by Amex possibly getting all your amex cards canceled IMO, good luck though, hope this works for you or has in the past

If I have 5 Amex currently, should I apply first, see the result (such as pending) then call re-con phone number to ask rep to cancel 1 to replace? or cancel 1 first , need to wait any cooling down period? Then apply which way is more successful rate right now? Thanks for recent DP

woah, this is a great datapoint that gives Ritz cardholders some hope…

If I click the “Agree & Submit Application” button for the Brilliant card would I still be able to not comit to the card on the next screen? see: https://snipboard.io/WOy3Iu.jpg it seems as in the next screen I will be informed if I will be approved or not, also if I am eligible for the bonus, and only then it seems as I could click: “Accept the card” to fully process my application, is that the case?

Where in the application can I doblecheck I am in front of a NLL No Lifetime Language? where does it normally say lifetime in regular applications so I make sure there is not on the application I am trying to submit? I got the Chase Bondless 2 months ago, I reached the SUB but it hasn’t been paid, is it better if I select yes or no at: “Are you enrolled in the Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program?” Thanks

I see, and on that card did you get the sign up bonus?

Yes You used to get one visit to a Chase Lounge per calendar year, but this is no longer the case. You get two guests. Guests must be with you to get into the lounge and be traveling with you. They do not need their own AU card or SSN or anything of that nature. Not sure. I had a Brilliant that I closed in 2023 so I should not have been eligible for another SUB for this card, but the link in this article worked for me on 8/7 and I was approved with the SUB(taking screen caps just in case, but it was very clear the offer was applied)

We have enough acronyms without people making new ones up

Link is dead for me for both cards

Complimentary priority pass lounge access is buried deep inside Benefit Terms on Amex website offer page!

I’m in the same situation as you. I downgraded the Ritz to a Boundless in March. I could not get the link to work with a SUB either.

My last Brilliant was closed about 30 months ago… just applied using the link and was instantly approved with the offer! I am plat for this year after a fair amount of travel last year(rare for me with younger kids) and some EQNs from biz and personal Bonvoy cards. Only need 2 more years for lifetime plat, was figuring I’d have to pony up for this card again for 2 years with no SUB. Now this will give me year 9, and year 10 I’ll at least get a free 85K cert out of the annual fee. This NLL link was too good to pass up, I keep my 5/24 count low for opportunities like this.

There was recent talks about American Express shutting down accounts, and one of the theories out there is that people were abusing NLL links. Should we be concerned about account shutdown for using this link?

I think Marriott’s one-lane rule for Chase or Amex SUBs is a hard-rule that it monitors on the back end of the application process based on membership IDs (and so Marriott instantly tells Amex or Chase if you are eligible). No way around that.

Instantly approved, perfect for upcoming trips. Thank you DOC.

Most people call it SUB (Sign-up Bonus) and use SOB as a term for someone who they dislike.

I had the ritz card and got the pop up, p2 on the other hand did not have the ritz card and was approved. We both had cancelled our brilliant card a few months ago

I had this card, closed it, about 6 months later applied to the 200k offer which had lifetime language but didn’t get a pop up. That was probably 4, 5 months ago. I applied to this one today and didn’t get a popup. So it’s the second Brilliant in a span of about 6 months after having closed one prior.

Does the NLL that this supposedly bypasses include the cross- banking Mariott products, or just if you had this cars itself? In other words- if I currently have a Ritz card, would I be able to get approved with this link?
