Update 7/9/26: some people liked to get Apple TV or other add-ons bundled with their Peacock subscription, but effective 8/1/26 add-ons will not be eligible for the credit (ht r/amexplatinum):

Changes to the Digital Entertainment Credit Benefit

Effective August 1, 2026, Peacock bundled services s subscriptions, subscriptions, add-on add-on services services subscriptions or services subscriptions purchased through a third-party will be ineligible for the Digital Entertainment Credit benefit. You will still be able to earn up to $25 in statement credits monthly by purchasing standalone Peacock subscriptions directly from Peacock, or eligible subscriptions with other Digital Entertainment Credit partners in the U.S. with an enrolled Platinum Card, for a total of up to $300 per calendar year in statement credits across all Cards on the Account.

Update 4/10/26: Note, YouTube Family price is increasing from $22.99 to $26.99. (ht Ok-Anywhere6998)

Original Post 9/17/25:

The American Express personal Platinum currently has a $20 per month entertainment credit that is good for the following merchants: Disney+, a Disney+ bundle, ESPN+, Hulu, The New York Times, Peacock, and The Wall Street Journal

New terms show the following:

Get up to $25 back in statement credits each month on eligible purchases made with your Platinum Card® on one or more of the following: Disney+, a Disney+ bundle, ESPN+, Hulu, The New York Times, Paramount+, Peacock, The Wall Street Journal, YouTube Premium, and YouTube TV. Terms apply.

That is an increase of $5 per month and more importantly for some also includes YouTube Premium, YouTube TV and Paramount+. Keep in mind this is part of the American Express platinum refresh so doesn’t go live until 9/18.

Newest-first by default, because “is it still working?” matters most.

I am paying 900 AF for a card that feels like a hassle, and my current travels in the last few years (US – Europe) haven’t yielded good redemption options on anything but United (and I have status with United). I am making money off the card because I use my Uber, streaming, hotel, lululemon, resy credits. However, it is starting to feel like a hassle, I am much happier with the Chase ecosystem. I can hold the MRs till I find a worthwhile redemption option. After that, either P2 or me will likely cancel one plat.

Some guy on /r/amexplatinum claims his bundle posted as Peacock Grill. Not sure of trolling lol. I downgraded and waiting for other DPs. My regular Peacock renewed as “PEACOCK NEW YORK CITY NY” $16.99, credit posted the same day.

Thank you for the DP! Thats promising. Had my charge post on Aug 4th with no credit yet. Bundled with apple TV. Hopefully it goes through otherwise I wonder if they set it to not work anymore starting Aug 2nd. PEACOCK NEW YORK CITY NY $21.51

Any datapoints yet if bundling with apple tv or HBO actually does disqualify and not trigger the entertainment credit anymore?

You think that you can completely dismiss promo pricing?

YO
Yoshi#2364918

You think Amex doesn’t know how to filter by amount charged? They’ve been doing it for years when Global Entry/NEXUS/SENTRI were different prices.

John John can you explain more about the free whopper promotion ?

Apple is in bed with Chase with their CSR.

I don’t see any massive hack with Hulu bundles. Quoting amex terms “ Hulu: Eligible Hulu purchases include subscriptions and add-ons purchased directly at http://www.hulu.com .”

JO
John John#2363942

What do you think is more likely – that people buying Peacock through amex plat also know about W+ Paramount+/Peacock and know more about this than you do, or that you know more about this and how to optimize streaming credits. If you were to read the first sentence, then AppleTV should have given you some sort of hint… But wait for it, this will blow your mind. You can also get a free Whopper (with purchase of sauce packet) every quarter. Do you want to know more about it?

JO
John John#2363742

Because apparently they will have to change how this is getting billed. If not then amex will just have to go by dollar value when issuing credits.

WI
William#2363547

You can get the free versions added on for free and the add-free versions for a fee. Amex does not reimburse that additional fee.

TR
Tracey#2363365

AmEx Platinum does offer a Walmart+ membership for free, and through that membership, you can choose to join Peacock or Paramount+ for free.

DO

Talking about it will surely help ensure it sticks around. Especially on a post about a similar benefit going away

NA
Nate#2363300

Hey to be fair unironically the target audience for this card are people who are dumb enough to pay for a $900 credit card without doing the math consistently if you’re actually making money off the card you’re a side effect not the target audience

KA
Karen in Florida#2363254

Not allowing a bundle with Peacock and Apple TV is to punish Apple for not playing in the sandbox with Amex.

KU
kumar#2363229

Does subscribing to a specific add-on “YOUTUBER” channel count towards the 25$ credit? Its typically 5$-9$ a month.

WI
William Charles#2363208

Why would you receive an e-mail from peacock about a benefit offered by American Express?

JO
John John#2363205

“ can’t cancel it yet because the points” Are you really saying you are paying $900 AF for a card that you see no value just to hold MR points? Are you not aware of other methods to hold MR points?

JO
John John#2363202

“Update 7/9/26: some people liked to get Apple TV or other add-ons bundled with their Peacock subscription, but effective 8/1/26 add-ons will not be eligible for the credit” What does this mean? Will the bundle will no longer be sold, will they code it differently so that credit doesn’t post? And more importantly why am I not receiving this information from Peacock in email? Do they expect people to just start paying for this shit?
