Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Business core checking has a $5 monthly fee that is waived with any of the following:
- $1,000 minimum daily balance each day of the month
- Have an Open Business Loan
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find any mention of one in the fee schedule.
Our Verdict
For the full bonus you’d need a $15,000 balance for three months, that works out to be a 24% APY and worth doing. Will add this to our list of the best saving account bonuses.

Original DP: Oct. 2025: Opened the account and deposited the required amount. Nov. 2025: Received the first $300 bonus. Dec. 2025: Received another $300 bonus. Jan. 2026: Received another $300 bonus. Jun. 2026: Closed the account. Churning DP: 9.23: Opened the account again using a different EIN and DBA. The application took about 1.5–2 hours to complete. Chex was pulled. Deposited enough funds to maintain an average daily balance above $15,000 in September. 9.30: Received the first $300 bonus. so it looks like the “Simmons Bank reserves the right to limit an Eligible Customer to $900 in Bonuses per rolling twelve (12) month period across all deposit relationships.”provision in the disclosure is not strictly enforced.
They are totally different referral programs. This only works for P1 to P2 etc but not P1 to P1.
I wonder if the referral bonus for Simmons works the same as it does for Regions Bank where you can refer yourself if you already have an existing account and get both the referrer and referee parts of the bonus as long as a different email account is used to sign up for the business.
Regarding pro tip: I can confirm, This is the way! P1 and P2 got credited opening with a check a couple days before end of month. Give yourself a few bucks leeway for unexpected BS that’s not your fault like some random fee from an error the banker made would’ve screwed me had I not had a few extra dollars in there.
Well laid out. crowderdd52 this is what you may have to do.
The account will be open 21 days this month. They will currently have a $15.1k balance for 20 days. 21 x $15k = $315k (needed sum) 20 x $15.1k = $302k (current sum) $315k – $302k = $13k They need to deposit $13k divided by the number of days remaining in the month from (and including) the day of the additional deposit. Assuming they can push from on Monday, and it posts on Tuesday, that’s 14 days. $13k / 14 ≈ $928.58 They’d need to push at least $928.58, if it arrives on Tuesday.
What is important is if the actual balance was $15100 on the 11th? If the transaction first appears on the 12th, then your average is going to be $14,380, not $15k because you had $0 balance for a day, bringing down your average. There is a current balance amount and an available balance amount, we care about the current. May want to plan on pushing more temporarily to get you over that $15k average. The math is a bit confusing, so ask ChatGPT if necessary. You may only get a $100 bonus instead of $300 for this month.
Yeah it’s cool that you can bypass Chex in branch, but it’s annoying that they won’t do it for existing customers online.
If not, it’ll probably come back again. I did this offer last fall. You can also put the offer link into the waybackmachine.com and see what previous promo time periods were to get an idea how often it runs.

Any chance this will be extended? Funds got tied up in other bonuses T_T
I closed my last business checking account in January this year. Going to try opening up another one under a different entity (sole prop with DBA registration or a different LLC). I should know if it worked by 9/2, so if I don’t get a bonus deposited then I know the churn failed and can bail my money out.
I’ve gotten both within 12 months.
What’s your source for them not enforcing the $900 limit in bonuses between business and personal?
Yeah I read thanks I emailed my branch to see what they said…
If it’s not enforced between business and personal bonuses then I would assume the 12 months is referring to business bonuses or maybe the same business entity bonus but it doesn’t say entity. It also says that they reserve the right as in maybe it’s not automatic but a manual thing they can do. “ Simmons Bank reserves the right to limit an Eligible Customer to $900 in Bonuses per rolling twelve (12) month period across all deposit relationships.” So maybe because it’s not being enforced across all deposit relationships in regards to business and personal then it wouldn’t be enforced between businesses. It’s really just going to have to be someone try lol. The good thing is you would know after just the first month.
People say you’ll need some sort of document like a tax license or a DBA registration.
Super helpful thanks. 😏
I just sheepishly said “yeah I had a lot of accounts in the past but now that I’ve moved to Missouri, I wanted to get established with you guys here” which was a bit of a non-answer but it was good enough for the banker I suppose
What reason did you give for so many accounts?
Read more carefully. 3 x $300 = $900.
Your post says $900 but I went clicked on the terms, the highest bonus was $300. What do I have to do to get the bonus from $300 up to $900? Thank you
Any DPs on a quick churn of Simmons business account bonuses? I last opened 10/2025, got the $900 bonus 3/1/2026 and closed 3/11/2026. It sounds like they don’t enforce the $900 in bonuses within 12 months limit between business and personal, but any idea if they enforce it within just business accounts?
Closest branch is an hour away. Tempted but don’t want to get rejected for sole prop.
Simmons is old!
It’s been on my list for a while. The banker I opened with actually suggested it to me when I opened my personal account, so I’m not sure that that “reservation” is enforced. I imagine she would have gotten some pushback from angry customers if it was. My last personal payout was actually 12/21. If I signed up now, I could time it so that my final month would pay out just over 12 months after that. Hmm… decisions.
Pickle Rick🔗👈🏼 Are you thinking about applying for this bonus even though you did the personal checking bonus earlier this year? I just saw the above comment by Tamis about the possible $900 bonus limit.
No. I did not.
I did the same thing. I was a little pissed. I got CS involved and they gave me the additional and got the full $900.
Am I reading the T&C correctly that there is very weak anti-churning language. Basically you just can’t have had an account the day the promotion started (June 15, 2026)? I closed my account May 6th so seems like I’m eligible again?
