The Fine Print
- Valid for the recipient of this offer only for checking account opened during promotional period January 7, 2025 to February 28, 2025.
- In order to qualify for the first $300 bonus, you must meet the following criteria 1) become a new Patelco member by opening a checking account by February 28, 2025. 2) sign up for e-statement 3) have a minimum of two (2) consecutive qualifying monthly direct deposits into your new Patelco checking account totaling $4000 or more by May 31, 2025. Qualifying direct deposits are electronic deposits of payroll (paycheck), government benefits payments, Social security, pension or other income received through the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network. Deposits that do not qualify include, but are not limited to, internal Patelco account to account transfers, check deposits, peer-to-peer transfers (e.g., transfers from Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, etc.), ATM or branch deposits, ATM transfers, or remote deposits. I received the email a few days ago and I see the offer on my Cashback+ page.
Been using CashBack+ pay with Safe1 for a month or so (7% back on CVS). I don’t see a login option for Patelco.

Normally for class action settlements I’m eligible for I don’t have issues submitting a claim.. but for this one, when you go to submit a claim they have blocked all non-US IPs and blocked every VPN I’ve tried.. so they’ve made it literally impossible for me to apply, even I received the email letting me know I’m involved in it.. so stupid.. I know Americans rarely travel or work overseas but sometimes they do? why block every overseas IP?
I don’t remember the exact reason (since I’ve never lived in California), but my first credit card is from them. At one point, it was closed due to inactivity, but when I explained to CSRs that it was my first card, they worked hard to recover it and reinstated it with the same number. I believe that really good people work there, and I’m confused about the concept of the class action lawsuit, considering that it’s a credit union and you essentially own it. I’m going to pass on this one.
The breach was the year before this OP was even posted. But mainly just the title is confusing since the Class Action is not expired – it just opened. Patelco seems to be washing their hands of the whole saga with this payment. They never disclosed if they paid the ransom, got the data back, or if and what data actually got leaked to the dark web. Since I use billpay, all my CC, util, insurance, etc account numbers are stored there – would be helpful to know what got taken.
Because the only people with accounts probably did this promotion and I don’t really want to write out a full post for something that only affects a small amount of readers

DP: Tried both Chase and Fidelity CMA deposit and one of them worked. Probably Fidelity since it was classified as a Securities Trade. Whereas, Chase was classified as just “Deposits”.
