Update 9/20/26: Chase Sapphire Reserve $5 restaurant credit is changing into a $15 everywhere credit

Update 6/23/25: Not sure when this was added, but the INK Preferred card now also has the Dashpass benefit through 2027 and the $10 monthly credit, like the Sapphire Preferred. Update: note, you can only have one Chase card enrolled per DoorDash account, and so you can’t double the monthly credits with more than one Chase card on a single account.

Original Post 2/3/25:

We wrote about the partnership of Chase and DoorDash. Some of the details changed now in February 2025, and so I thought to review the current details in a single, clean post. (You can see the prior post and update versions here.) Let us know if anything needs further clarification.

Chase partners with DoorDash on various cards and offers benefits: free Dashpass, $10 monthly discount off non-restaurant orders, and $5 off restaurant orders.

  1. Free Dashpass benefit –
    • The Sapphire cards (Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Preferred, and plain Sapphire) can activate free DashPass membership through December 31, 2027. (If Dashpass is activated during 2027, you’ll get one full year of Dashpass from the date of activation.
    • All Freedom card versions and Slate cards can activate free Dashpass for 6 months. Activate by 12/31/25 for a free six months. (Readers in the comments note that if you previously got 3 months DashPass from a card under the old promo system you will not be able to get this new 6 months promo. When a card number changes it always resets the promo eligibility.)
    • Chase co-branded cards such as Southwest, IHG, etc, etc, can activate free Dashpass for 12 months. Activate by 12/31/25 for a free 12 months. All Chase Co-Brand credit cards are eligible except the Amazon card, Instacart card, and DoorDash card.
    • Note: after the promo period you will be auto-enrolled in full price Dashpass if you don’t cancel it. This is not relevant for the Sapphire cards which get continuous benefit through December 2027, and apparently that will not auto-renew for a paid membership.
    • You can only have Dashpass active from one Chase card at a given time, and so you can’t double up on the discounts by having two Chase cards linked to the same DoorDash account. You can activate the Dashpass with a new Chase card after the old promo period ends, e.g. after getting free Dashpass for 6 months with A Freedom card, you can activate Dashpass with another Freedom or Slate card to get another 6 months.
  2. $5 Restaurant credit –
    • Only the Sapphire Reserve card gets the $5 restaurant order discount credit.
    • Credit comes on the first of each calendar month and can be used once during the month. There is no roll-over on this credit and you can not accumulate a few to use together (as was the case in the prior system). It’s just a flat once-per-month $5 credit toward restaurant orders, use it or lose it at the end of the month.
    • This $5 restaurant credit can be combined with other DoorDash promo codes. (You can only use one promo code per order, but this $5 discount comes as a separate line-item credit.)
    • To avoid delivery fees and tips, can look for restaurants that allow pickup.
    • To activate this $5 benefit, you need to first activate the free DashPass benefit. After activation, the $5 credit will show up as an option at checkout. Be sure to apply it at checkout.
  3. $10 non-restaurant credit  – this credit is valid only for purchases outside of restaurants, such as at grocery and convenience stores.
    • Sapphire Reserve cardholders get two of these $10 credits each calendar month which can be used on two separate orders. You can not combine the two credits. You can not accumulate credits from month to month. It resets on the first of each month with two new credits.
    • Sapphire Preferred cardholders get one $10 credit each calendar month. Readers in the comments note that the Sapphire (plain) card is also getting this $10 monthly credit.
    • You can not accumulate credits from month to month. It resets on the first of each month with a new $10 credit.
    • The various Freedom cards, Slate, and Chase co-brand cards get one $10 credit each quarter. You can not accumulate credits from quarter to quarter. It resets on the first of each quarter with a new $10 credit.
    • This $10 credit can be combined with other DoorDash promo codes. (You can only use one promo code per order, but this $10 discount comes as a separate line-item credit.)
    • To avoid delivery fees and tips, can look for stores that allow pickup.
    • To activate the $10 benefit, you need to first activate the free DashPass benefit with the card. After activation, the $10 credit(s) will show up as an option at checkout. Be sure to apply it at checkout.
    • If the full $10 is not redeemed on a single order, the remaining value will be forfeited.

Newest-first by default, because “is it still working?” matters most.

It looks like pickup orders now require a $20 minimum purchase.

They have now entered in a min. spend of $20 on pick up orders now. Used to be min. spend $10.This is for convenience store orders. Just tried to use for April month

I have opened 3 doordash accounts with three difference email addresses but I’ve only given one phone number and it works. One account with P1 CBR, one with P2 CBR, one with P1 CSP, and I get the credits on each account.

Would need another Doordash account

I already used 10$ and dashpass from my chase freedom. Can I get more dashpass and 10$ from my another freedom card? The system wants me to pay 9.99. Is there no way to get a $10 promo without paying $ 9.99 for Dashpass?

Activating it overrode the T-Mobile free year, FYI

this should be illegal. I’ve seen the do this as well, adding weird additional fees that aren’t spelled out when i actually order using the promo. such absolute scam and disgusting pricing to trick people

I noticed Doordash increases the fees and taxes when you try to use the $10 benefit! I used my wife’s account with a dashpass where she already used her $10 benefit. Results: $0 delivery fee and $1.99 service fee. I used my account with a dashpass where I HAVENT used the $10 benefit yet. Results: $3.99 delivery fee and $5.19 service fee. OUTRAGEOUS

Update — played with this a bit and found that it was turning my order into a delivery order when I used both, even though I had it set as pickup. I had this happen last month on an order just using the $5 Chase benefit. I cancelled it immediately, but DD said it was too late to cancel, so they refunded me the fees. Fortunately, it was a bagel place five minutes away so I drove over and picked up the order. They didn’t know what was going on, they saw that it was cancelled. They still had it there for me to get. Why is their system so screwed up?

Weirdly, it only showed up for me after I placed my first order on the account

Was able to see the $10 credit when I signed up on the 25th but am also not able to see it anymore.

i dont see CIP has $10 on a new account.

You’ll need separate phone numbers (and emails) for each new account.

Reading is hard. DOC’s post above clearly states: “ Update : note, you can only have one Chase card enrolled per DoorDash account, and so you can’t double the monthly credits with more than one Chase card on a single account.”

Funny you responded to this old reply of mine. I just did two orders at 7-Eleven on Monday. Got milk and whipped cream on one order (just under $10) and five 2-packs of hard cooked eggs on the other order (45c over, but I needed them to bring somewhere. Another local convenience store has eggs for $2.15 a dozen, which is really cheap. Oddball pricing on other stuff, some Hagen Dazs pints are $5, others are over $8.

Can you create separate accounts on the same phone?

MA
Matt#2084029

Do you get $10 off twice on the same account if you use 2 cards? Or it has to be 2 separate accounts, 4 for 2-player mode?

EL
Elle#2084021

Doordash says that the credits come from the dashpass thats active, so given you cannonly activate one dashpass per account, i would think not.

Adding my INK to DoorDash and the only option is to pay and subscribe to DashPass. DoorDash support says INKs aren’t eligible, even though I forwarded them the email with my specific card number.

Apparently the Dash Mart (pickup!) that fulfills orders for all of the branded stores (Milkjam, Detroit Cookie Co, local ice cream shops, etc) is right down the street from me. Super slick ice cream deal for the summer! Two player mode $40/mo lol

JE
Jenn#2083713

For Freedom and Slate, does the $10 quarterly promo only last until the Dashpass promo is done? If Dashpass is for 6 months, do we only get the quarterly promo twice?

JA
Jan G#2083703

Side question: If I have two CSRs, are the 2 $10 credits stackable? Will it essentially be 4 x $10 credits?

nice. thank you for the info. makes sense.

I’ve been using mine for similar things at KwikTrip and Speedway around my area.

GD

Yes, you’ll need separate accounts for each Chase card.

EH
EH#2083641

Doordash says that the credits are tied to the dashpass that’s active. same goes for the freedom cards. The say you can create a second account (1 biz 1 personal), but u need a separate phone number. I’ll just buy one from plivo or twilio

GU
GundamWing01#2083613

dont think so. ive been trying. u cant just add chase cards to ur DD accnt. i dont see how u can enroll multiple chase cards on 1 DD accnt. to use more than one card credit, u need a different account. anyone else figure it out?

RI
RiskandReward#2083602

New accounts. I use old devices (phone, tablet) for each account.
