Our Verdict
This new mid-tier American Airlines card slots between the Platinum Select ($99) and Executive ($595) versions. The 90,000-mile bonus is the main draw here, and since it runs on a separate timeline from the other Citi AAdvantage cards everyone will be eligible now to get the card. If you can get the Platinum Select that’s probably a better deal to save the $350 annual fee.
Longer term, the $350 fee is difficult to justify as a keeper card. I suppose it might make sense for the right traveler who will max out the benefits. We’ll add this to our list of the Best Credit Card Bonuses.

Shoot, I just got this card using a mailer code for 65k miles on 2026/09/08 after searching around for a still-functional 90k link. Oh well.
The basic Platinum Select Card has 80000 miles offer, if you apply while you are in any AA operated flight. The $99 fee is easily waived off as part of credit statement by Citi reps. the AA card is useless to earn any meaningful airline miles. Citi travel gives you better AA miles by transfer.
I don’t see it, but I didn’t know Citi had a tracker.
Did you see the 90k on the app right away? I applied and got approved as well (pre-approved before submitting application), but I am not seeing the 90k bonus on the apps reward section.
Went ahead and bit on this while it is still 90k. Approved (15k) surprisingly, but had to call for verification and approve a credit line reallocation from my Costco card I seldom used. 7/12, 835 equifax, 1/12 on inquiries.
This link is still working William Charles
I don’t see the 90K offer anywhere.
Did the offer expire ?
Does anyone know if the “splurge” credit for Livenation count for TM purchases?
Any bonus miles are redeemable miles only. You only earn 1x LP on purchases no matter what the multiplier is.
how long will this elevated offer last?
When it says x2 miles for restaurants, etc., are those just miles or do they count towards Loyalty Points?
DFW stands for Doesn’t Function Wet …but AA switching from 9 banks to 13 banks seems to be improving operations at DFW
what do you suggest for us that call it our home hub?
Can you get this sign up bonus if you just had the aviator silver convert to this? eg can you hold 2 of the same cards?
Added, thanks
It’s still showing as 60k on my end when I use the link in the post. Was the higher offer pulled already for some reason? Edit: This link via AA’s site directs to the 90k offer. Chuck
Yes, link is for 60k. Here is the updated link for 90k. https://creditcards.aa.com/credit-cards/citi-globe-card-american-airlines-direct/ Have both cards currently (Platinum select and executive) but for 90k might do it for a year then cxl.
Elaborate?
Why not?
Friends don’t let friends fly AA thru DFW………….if at all.
Current bonus still 60,000
This link didn’t work for me, declined for “unverifyable information”, called a handful of times and the most I could get out was that the application method was invalid somehow so this link might be tied to some specific method?
I just applied and was also denied, and also opened the Strata Elite several months ago. An automated recording said I was denied for the following reasons: Too many recent inquiries(I have 5 in the last 24 months) Too much unused credit on my credit cards Not enough credit history(impossible since I’ve had credit cards for over 30 years and have had Citi cards for about 15 years). My wife applied and was approved about 6 weeks ago. She has more cards than me and has opened more than 6 in the last 24 months.
Applied for BOA Alaska Ascent, got instant approval and did not get an option to see card info Then applied for Citi AA Globe, instant approval and no card info given either Really needed card info to pay taxes before 15th lol
Interesting data point for rejection: Opened the Strata Elite back in October, automatic approval. Applied for this, immediate rejection. Pulled Experian. Called the business recon number 800-763-9795, asked to escalate to a manager (very nicely) explaining I didn’t want to wait for the rejection letter because I thought I could provide any required additional information over the phone. Manager confirmed provided income info and said rejection was because of “ too many inquiries in the last 24 months ” and couldn’t override it. Surprised, I politely asked if they could share the number Citi considers too much, and she said six or more . Possibly a new metric for Citi approval then?
Thank you so much for posting this! I figured I’d missed out on the 90K offer, but this link just worked for me.
this link still works: Citi® / AAdvantage® Globe™ Mastercard® | Citi.com
I didn’t realize this was going to expire when it did. Are there any 90k links hanging around still?
The link seems to have expired as of today. Shows 60K bonus for me in regular and private browsing.
