Has anyone tried to downgrade to avoid the fee?
Didn’t see this posted before, it was my birthday recently and I got this email from ICCU: Complete a financial review to earn $50: ” To receive $50 you must be a new or existing member of ICCU and complete a financial review at any ICCU branch with a Financial Services Officer or via VideoChat with a Virtual Service Center Agent. No minimum balance required. $50 to be deposited at time of completing financial review. Membership must remain open for minimum of six months from reward date or $50 will be debited from account at closing. Must be 18 years of age or older. Limit one reward per membership, per year. Member account(s) must be in good standing to take advantage of promotion. $50 eligible for 1099 reporting. Offer expires 30 days after the member’s listed birthdate in ICCU’s records. Insured by NCUA .“
William Charles Promo Expired June 30th
No way to waive the fee
I HUCA’d 5 times between the two methods, but you missed the other four states I listed… I think you guys just got lucky. Anywho, the promo was only for last month so it’s moot at this point.
HUCA? Definitely worked for my P2 last weekend. Maybe it was changed in their internal system? The CUs in Idaho option only applying to residents of Idaho doesn’t make sense because residents of Idaho don’t need membership in another CU to qualify. Being a resident qualifies them.
not if i do my job right
“some of my p2s” Umm, are they aware of each other?
correct
yeah. gowest worked for some of my p2s, some it did not.
Nice! To confirm, no hard pull? dylan
The “ members of credit unions located in the State of Idaho” option is YMMV, as it did not work for some: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/id-only-idaho-central-credit-union-iccu-150-checking-bonus-direct-deposit-not-required/#comment-1772959 dylan Acid Bath
Opened the acc online with 110 funding and saw bonus 250 posted on next day. Central Plus Checking Account has a monthly fee of $7.00, is there any way to waive the fee – direct deposit or some minimum balance?
I did not attempt. I chickened out.
Did CC funding work?
Update: No dice. Supposedly the website is out of date, and the CUs in Idaho option only applies to residents of ID, WA, OR, NV, and AZ. Rep said he didn’t have that option available to select with my OOS address… Guess I’m giving up on this one. 😔
I live in Washington and there are three ICCU branches in my town and I still didn’t see anything that qualified me to be a member. Very confusing.
Good find. That means another credit union located in Idaho that many of us have should quialify: United Federal Credit Union
Haha I’m not a big fan of repeatedly trying things when I think I’ll fail. I am gonna give it one more shot with the “member of a CU in Idaho” route, since MACU does have a bunch of branches there.
good catch
yeah or maybe they tightened up or maybe no and you should keep trying for free no chex 250
MACU has 12 branches in Idaho. Think I’ll use that instead.
Out and about with family today. Don’t think they would appreciate me stopping to open another bank account… 🤣
the video support line is still open today until 1500MT I think..
Genius, didn’t even catch that! Guess I’ll try again on Monday.
Careful inspection of the membership rules has yielded a positive outcome, verified with a DP of approved account opening. experian thawed, chex/EQF/TU frozen P2 opened account through “Employees and members of credit unions located in the State of Idaho “. First Tech FCU has a single branch near Boise, ID. P1 then opened using P2’s membership as leverage. Pickle Rick🔗👈🏼 or anyone else stuck at the GoWest option — you might consider this if you have your First Tech FCU membership open still from a past churn. Good luck!!! happy churning
That was the second try. First call they asked for proof, second call the banker checked the proof with her manager. Different bankers each time. Maybe you just got lucky?
i recommend huca. they didnt ask me for any proof.
yeah ive had that for a while, gets you in to a few fis. its 5 bucks
My thoughts exactly. I asked GoWest via their contact form, and they responded via email that ICCU was correct about their association/foundation partnership distinction. I tried to follow-up with that “member are CUs” point, but the email bounced.
