Our Verdict
They’ve significantly changed most of the card credits from how it was initially announced a few months back.
Some impressions:
- I can see this card for someone who anyway pays for some of the memberships. E.g. someone who anyway pays for Function and Robinhood Gold can save $425 by holding the card which offsets most of the annual fee.
- The temporary Eight Sleep deal maybe (?) has some value for someone who plans on buying an Eight Sleep system.
- Beyond the free memberships:
- The $300 flight credit seems useful, but again the credit is for flights only (unlike the Sapphire Reserve which offers the broader travel category)
- Some will find value in the hotel credit, but it’s not worth nearly $700.
- The DoorDash, TSA, and Waymo credits are those marginal kind of benefits which can be useful but only help marginally to justify the annual fee.
- The 5% rate on Dining is interesting – it’s the best cashback dining card out there. Even counting points cards, the 5% rivals the 4x on AmEx Gold and the 3x on the Chase Sapphire Preferred/Reserve.
- The Dining credit might be interesting: if it ends up working at most restaurants (TBD), you might get the credits without any thought given that you’ll anyway be using the card at Restaurants for the 5% earn rate.
In the end, without any signup bonus, this isn’t an easy card to justify the annual fee. But it can make sense for the right person who wants a cashback dining card or uses some of the health membership, and is able to make use of some of the flight credit and some of the other credits.

there are tons of cards with 5% off dining.. without any annual fee
Would love to see it too.
Good point on the dining credit. I guess the key question is whether it’ll work at all of the regular chain food establishments or more niche places. If anyone has more details let us know. Updated the post
Superpower, Empirical Health, and Goodlabs all offering similar packages around $200. Vitals Vault is < 100
are their refferall offers on this card
I signed up for Function with the CSR 50% off promo and found the results to be super interesting, interesting enough to capture me as a ongoing customer. Initially looking at the card it was a pass, but considering the value out of Function, I could make it work. If Function doesn’t appeal to you, significantly harder to justify.
Yes, you could collect gift cards all year long to spend it at a restaurant but do you really want to pay with 12 gift cards at the end of your meal at a fancy restaurant? Possible, yes but super awkward. As you describe it, is it really worth doing so much work to not even get the effective AF to 0?
My rules of thumb 1.no SUB, no apply. 2.If the benefits and credits offered make your head spin, no apply. Hard pass!
You can still use the points for gcs and at checkout even if you can’t cash out anymore not a deal breaker papi
Travel portal booking does not add to loyalty status or credits. Points redemption are a $0.01 / point. Somebody please give a realistic case where this is better than any other high AF coupon book for the mathematically challenged?
We’ll see once its released to the masses. I have the gold and would upgrade if the annual fees was waived
Raymond 🔗 Well, I will spare judgement on the dining until the list of restaurants comes available. I would assume that there is at least one or two restaurants which provides gc’s that one could resell on reselling platforms. DashPass provides that as well although CSP gives DashPass too. Lets assume there is a restaurant at 80% resale value on one of the reselling platforms. Get the total $250 in GC’s thru the year. $250 x 80% = $200. Plus $300 airline credit is $500. Free RH Gold means you will get $1000 of free margin. Whereas with the RH Gold CC one uses the margin to offset the cost of the $60 RH Gold, in this case one would use it towards the cost of the Platinum card. $1000 in SGOV is worth about $35 profit at current rates. So that makes the card worth around $160 before any other credits. Is it worth paying $160 for an additional 1% on dining? I guess if you do a LOT of dining. DoorDash gift cards should code as dining, so you could do $13,500/yr in 10% discounted GC’s to sell (1x Best Buy per month, 4x Lowe’s per month). I agree on the travel earning rates. Portals never make it worth it. I only use portals when I am forced – Venture X credit, BOA PRE points redemption, CSP hotel credit, etc.
Drew 🔗 Oh, I missed that. Although I can’t seem to find information that this is actually confirmed. That ruins the fun if it is indeed true. 3x everywhere is better than 5x dining + 1x everywhere.
Holy couponification!! Unless you plan to spend thousands of dollars on Eight Sleep, not worth it.
I think it’s perfectly fair because the custom cash is held by a ton of people and unless you learned about rewards yesterday, you had the chance to get the card.
If all of the credits fall within natural spend or you regularly go out and spend thousands of dollars on restaurants then it’s worth considering, however the biggest issue is that all of the major competitors in this space and at this AF range are regularly offering $1,000+ sign up bonuses. CSR’s highest ever offer was $1,500. Amex Platinum has gone as high as $1,750. Once you factor in even the regularly available SUB’s this card is an utter flop in comparison. Like even if this card matched your natural spend perfectly, a CSR gives pretty much the same set of benefits, an even easier travel credit, access to Sapphire lounges on top of PP, and a cool $1,000 on top – so there’s basically no reason to not just get that for at least a year and then switch to the RH Plat afterwards.
“ For those of us who have the RH Gold card” you have to upgrade from your gold and can’t hold both. Is this card worth giving up your 3% catch all?
I’m not a fan of this card but I mean if we’re talking profit here and “small mindedness” wasting a bunch of money on a slightly more comfortable flight for a few hours is even more so. Unless you know something I don’t, you aren’t getting economy seats at 2.5 CPP outside of an aberration. So I think think it being cashback instead of points isn’t really a bad thing using that mindset. Heck if anything, it encourages you to invest your cashback into your brokerage, which is probably the smartest thing to do with it (outside of doing bonuses that is).
Not really fair to compare with a legacy custom cash is it? It’s not fair to compare discontinued cards to current setups I think
Junk card.
sf techbro at an ai startup, dead serious
You are assessing value based on coupons relative to the annual fee. Fine, you turn a couple hundred dollars profit. Small potatoes. Small mindedness. Hand to mouth mentality. Meanwhile, the 10x/5x is cash back as opposed to transferrable points. This is a substantial underperformance (as others have noted). The Citi Strata Premier earns 10x. Factor in a transfer bonus of 20% to an airline program. And, 2.5 CPP on redemption. That’s a 30% reward rate. But, if you just want 10% cash back, the Premier will give you that as well. And, who needs a fourth PP membership?
yas! waiting on DPs as well lol
Ah, yes, our 12th Priority Pass Select membership details… THAT’s what’ll make or break this card.
I’m glad the others already had this covered, because I cannot stand BILT shills.
*Shiti
Worse. It’s your dog’s shit after it eats another dog’s shit.
Not to mention, no SUB, no way.
lol this card is clearly Temu Platinum . It does not offer anywhere near the value provided by say even CSP The only benefits that translate directly for most people are the $10 monthly DashPass credit and perhaps the hotel credit. The rest are merely superficial additions. The $20 monthly dining credit usually applies to expensive restaurants where a $30 entree is the norm, similar to Bilt rewards. You will receive far greater value by spending $95 on a Chase Sapphire Preferred card. RH travel portal (for gold) is scam, everything is 5% more. Also, I dont think RH is the one I will trust on travel bookings if things go side ways.
Do they?
