Our Verdict
Not as good as the bonus of up to $599 that was once offered, but I doubt we will see that again. I recommend only doing bank bonuses of $100+ so I’d give this one a miss and wait for something better to come along. How long do you need to wait to be able to churn or how long did you wait if you don’t know?
From my experience, promotions are pretty much going on at almost all banks year round, and MoneyLion is no exception. When promo periods end, they sometimes use the opportunity to make adjustments to the TOC, raising or lowering the bar of entry, so to speak. Also to raise or lower the total incentive. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bank cease referral or signup bonuses all together. In general, the answer to your question will usually be “yes” but info here on DOC can get outdated real fast, so be sure to read the TOC to figure out the current offer and required stipulations.

Updated Data Points: March 2025: (1) $100 ACH transfer from Current —> MoneyLion w/ “Payroll” in the memo (2) $100 ACH transfers from BlueVine Business checking account —> MoneyLion but memo doesn’t show up in transaction These triggered the $55 bonus for me and signing up also triggered $5 right away. Just as an added note, this is the 2nd churning attempt I’ve tried using BlueVine and notes you add to the “memo” line didn’t show up in the other bank account either (Current). So I’m not sure if it matters. (BlueVine does not trigger Current BTW).

It looks like it’s now 2 DD’s required. Any DP’s other than Wise? How does the referral track when all it’s having us do is scan a QR code and downloading an app?

Ok thanks. It sucks because my employer isn’t even on there and doesn’t use a centralized payroll system so I couldn’t use their system even if I wanted. Thanks for the referral bonus dd tip though !
So I was never able to get the $100 bonus offer to trigger. They wanted me to use their system to log into my companies payroll…not going to happen. As for the current bonus it shows $60. My steps were: Opened a MoneyLion account. Shortly after got $5 bonus. Opened a RoarMoney account and manually set up payroll. After a a single payroll over 100 I received a $55 bonus. Be sure to set up a Roar Money Checking account and make a Direct Deposit of $100 or more to trigger referral bonus if you open an account that way.
Looks like on top of the referral bonus you might also be offered a $100 bonus on doing 4 Direct Deposits. First one can be of any size to trigger the start. Than next 3 must be over $500. Within 30 days, 31 to 60 days and last 61 to 90 days. Like always…YMMV
