Bonus payment will be deposited into the Gold Account within 60 days of meeting the qualifications. Eligible only for individuals who haven’t owned a Nevada State Bank deposit or loan account in the past 12 months. Cannot be combined with other checking offers. Limited to one bonus per account and customer. This online-only offer may not be available if you leave this page, visit nsbank.com, a Nevada State Bank branch, or call the bank. All tax liabilities, if any, associated with the benefits are the responsibility of the recipient, and the recipient may receive an IRS tax reporting statement that includes the approximate retail value of the benefits. Qualifying direct deposits include regular, periodic Automated Clearing House (ACH) credits, such as payroll, salary, pension, or government benefits (e.g., Social Security). Transfers from another Nevada State Bank account do not count as direct deposits.
- $350 New Money Market Bonus: A new Nevada State Bank Money Market account linked to the Gold Account must be opened with new money within the first 90 days of opening the Gold Account. Must maintain a 90-day average balance of $25,000. Minimum opening deposit of $50 required for new Money Market account. Please refer to the Deposit Account Agreement, Account Disclosure, Deposit Rate Sheet and Personal Account Schedule of Fees, or speak with a banker for more details.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Gold account has a $15 monthly fee. No monthly service fee when you keep a daily account balance of $2,500 OR a combined deposit balance of $25,000.
Early Account Termination Fee
Not sure if there is any EATF or not.
Our Verdict
Money market account earns 0.35% APY. If you put the $25,000 into an account earning 5% APY you’d earn $308 over that 90 day period so not really worth considering the savings bonus in my opinion. Checking bonus is worth considering but difficult to meet the direct deposit requirement for a lot of people.

Any dp of current bank working ?
Has anyone been able to open the CBT Gold account recently? This link https://www.calbanktrust.com/personal/landing/gold350/ seem to be showing promo still. This link https://www.calbanktrust.com/personal/landing/gold-account-offer/ goes to 404 error.
Customer service reps on the main help line aren’t allowed to downgrade and advise you to go into the branch. I called a branch and they wanted me to come in, but I pushed back and they said they would call me back. A few days later I noticed my account had been downgraded. No notification from them.
Update – disregard, I just called a random Dallas branch about my downgrade. He did no problem over the phone and I wish I’d done it sooner. I actually forgot about it and have just had $2,500 sitting there for months. I did ask out of curiosity which branch is technically my “assigned branch” and he was able to tell me no issue. Of course it wasn’t the one I happened to call so I’m glad he helped me lol.
Yeezie🔗👈 any idea how to find your “assigned branch”?
I just got the bonus too. Thanks for allowing me to follow in the UCLA footsteps 🤗 lol
I didn’t see any tracker.
Follow up to my June 10th post after opening. 5/31 – Opened California Bank & Trust with Chex frozen. In state. No option to fund with credit card. Funded minimum $50 with bank account debit at opening. 6/10 – Added funds to get it to $2,500 minimum needed to avoid fees on Gold Account 7/3 – Last of real DDs to get to $7,500 9/3 – $350 bonus posted The account reports to EWS, so I need to keep it open through November. I’m going to call to try to downgrade to Anytime Checking which has a $6 fee avoidable with $250 monthly DDs or minimum balance of $500. No referral program I could find.
Did you see any confirmation that promo was applied or find promo tracker on the site?
Approved for the Cal Bank and Trust Gold offer with Chex frozen (CA address).
Has anyone gotten paid lately?
Firelord Nice!
Amegy (zions) did try to pull chex but account was opened for P1 and P2 at 2 different branches with chex frozen. Bankers never asked or mentioned about chex.
Oh, I see what you were saying. IME Zions pulls Chex, doesn’t pull EWS, but reports to EWS. Also, IME you can get approved with Chex frozen. LexisNexis is not EWS. When a FI runs identity verification through QualiFile, your LexisNexis data is included.
So, I’m seeing it on my Chex report under “Inquiries viewed by others” with a note below Amegy that says “Public record information on file at Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions was utilized for this inquiry.” Does that inquiry count for both EWS and Chex? Haha

You mean EWS? Biz accounts and EWS are… weird. I think the issue is just how EWS compiles their disclosures. I’ve had some biz accounts show on my personal report, some on both personal/biz reports, and some on the biz report for the wrong biz lol.
My biz account showed up on my Chex. I actually got hit twice!
Did anyone close their account online?
SJ Did you end up trying NSB and did they approve/deny that one? And did your rejection specifically mention being outside their area?
It’s gotta be, since that’s what the service describes. https://www.chexsystems.com/sentry%20service
Pickle Rick🔗 Is that what that is? I know I’m replying from a comment from about 8-9 months ago but I have a credit union account, every time I get another Chex inquiry the same day, or day after I get an inquiry under the “Inquiries viewed only by you” section from them. I always keep my Chex frozen. I only unfreeze it when I decide to apply at a place I know that pulls Chex that won’t approve with it frozen and when I am willing to take the Chex inquiry. I then immediately freeze it back up right after. I’ve never even head of Chex Sentry service until stumbling upon your comment.
My Amegy Bank account reports to EWS under Zions Bank, so I assume the other divisions do as well.
Cc No fee on the 6/30 statement. It appears you’re right.
Hi catcat do you happen to know if CA Bank & Trust reported to EWS for your Gold checking account? Thanks!
Yeezie🔗👈 Any update on this? I’m assuming they won’t charge a fee on first statement to give people time to fund it but would appreciate confirmation, thanks!
Cc Unfortunately not sure about whether or not they report to EWS, but from my knowledge they do report to Chex.
Dave Yeezie🔗👈 SaverGirl Any DP on whether CA Bank & Trust reports to EWS? Thanks!
is there any updated link for Amegy (TX)? Current link top of the page leads to an error page.
SaverGirl What date was your previous account closed? Mine was closed on July 2, 2025 and I’m wondering if I’m safe to open the account today, or if I must wait until August 1, 2026 to be eligible, (which might not be possible since according to a DP on this thread, the offer expires on 7/31/26 – that may or may not be extended).
