The Fine Print
- Offer valid for new Embold Credit Union memberships opened between 9/15/2025 and 11/15/2025.
- To qualify for the $200 bonus, new members must: (1) open a new personal checking account, (2) establish a qualifying recurring direct deposit, and (3) complete 16 debit card transactions by 12/31/2025.

I didn’t apply for this promo.
I was asked to unfreeze chex to proceed with the application but highly unlikely to get approved with my chex stats, and I’m not trying to get an additional inquiry for a denial.
I just saw your comment on the Oregon State bonus post too. Was Embold the only hard pull? I’m on the fence whether it’s worth it if it’s going to be a hard pull and having to convince them to do a video call to complete opening hmm thank you

wow, are you the only person to get approved? lol i’m in Portland.. wondering if it’s worth a try
my DP. This was a HP… was asked by email to unfreeze Equifax. I’m in their service footprint but not very close to a branch, they wanted me to come in-branch to complete but after some back and forth on email they agreed to a video call + Docusign to verify ID and to complete signature. Was able to CC fund (Visa/MC only) $200 checking + $1000 savings on that Teams video call. It was a rather slow manual process to get going, but on the other hand, meeting bonus requirements should be easy now that the account is finally open.
If you have never been denied for Chex before, you either are extremely lucky or you don’t really have “lol/24” Chex inquiries.
I’m lol/24 and this is my first ever Chex denial (follow up email asking why I’m lol/24, which I don’t plan to answer)
Do you know if there was a Chex inquiry?
Upon applying online it says Approved but received an email saying that the application is received. I have not seen any options for funding. No email alert from credit agencies.. so assuming no hard enquiry.I live and work in OR.
