Update 10/6/26: $150 offer is back
Update 9/28/26: This has been increased to $150.
The Offer
- Rakuten is offering $100 bonus when you sign up for the Citi Strata Premier card. (That’s the one with the $95 annual fee and 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000.)
Note: bonus will only show if you are earning Rakuten cashback or Bilt points, not if your account is set up to earn Membership Rewards points.
Our Verdict
Nice spruce-up to the regular signup bonus if you want this card. It’s interesting to see Rakuten partner with more and more card issuers to add a bonus as this isn’t something that’s typically done with affiliate networks:
- Rakuten Adds Bank Of America Cards To Portal – Up To $275
- Rakuten: Get Up To $50-$90 When Signing Up For Chase Freedom Unlimited

No
Bonus is down to $50. Also, the lifetime SUB rule which includes both the strata and the old premier makes this a no go for most 🙁 Looks like the major banks are moving towards the lifetime rule for SUBs. The end of an era
My crystal ball is too cloudy to rule out a future 75k + $150 portal bonus. 75k+$150 > 60k+$150 It would be foolish to squander organic spend so if you’re running out of MSR I’d take the current offer. I’d just be MSing it so I can wait.
this is back (or still here? ) i saw it on rakuten today.
Doubt it.
The Strata Premier was a refresh of the Citi Premier card, which did offer an 80k bonus. Since that change, the highest offer has been 75k.
BofA SUBs improved overtime at Rakuten. Wouldn’t be surprised to see the same happen with Citi SUBs too.
Do we think that applying thru Rakuten will increase likelihod of approval? I haven’t had the greatest luck getting approved by Citi.
Nvm
When you say Rakuten’s history, are you saying the Rakuten bonus often increases, or the card itself? This is the next card on my list, but I was really hoping the rumored refresh (regardless of how good or bad) would have a better SUB. 80k would be nice…
this card was released in 2024. The highest SUB for the Citi Strata Premier was 75k https://www.doctorofcredit.com/citi-strata-premier-full-details-now-available/
I also see BoA Customized cash at $200… that’s more than I got for it, mine was $175.
Was 80k when I applied in 2021.
I’m guessing one won’t come until/unless they do the rumored refresh, but it might just be enough to offset the increased AF
Highest was 75k, right?
He changed the post.
The DOC description says Bilt ok. But on my account I don’t see those terms at all. Where are you seeing them?
Hoping for an elevated SUB soon!!!
If I changed my Rakuten to earn Bilt points and then did this offer, would I earn $50 worth of Bilt points? (I don’t have Bilt status so my transfer ratio would be 1:0.5)
Let me update that only MR is excluded
That’s how it was last time with the BoA.
Nice, based on Rakuten’s history with credit card SUBs, I would wait for elevated bonuses.
Interesting… it is showing for me too but I wonder if I do the offer what happens to the poayout.
I don’t see it on my account which is set to MR, but I see it on P2 account set to cashback. So, maybe Bilt and cashback accounts have it, but MR accounts don’t.
fwiw, I was able to search ‘citi strata’ and deal came up. I enabled MR cash out on my account a few years ago.
I have my Rakuten account set up to Bilt Points and the Citi Strata Premier offer is available.
I guess banks have moved on from paying YouTube credit card gurus and linked up with Rakuten instead. Most of them stopped worshipping Chase 3x a day in some slop content.
Shows up fine for me when set to Bilt points.
What’s stopping someone from switching to cashback to get the offer to be visible then switching back to MR/Bilt after completing the offer once the cashback is pending?
“Note: bonus will only show if you are earning Rakuten cashback, not if your account is set up to earn MR/Bilt points.” This makes it a no deal sadly.
