The Offer
No direct link, targeted offer
- Get up to $330 back in statement credits targeting the fees incurred when transferring Delta SkyMiles to another person’s account. Valid until 11/14/26
Our Verdict
Normally when you transfer Delta miles from one account to another you are charged a fee of $30 + 1¢ per point. So this means you can transfer up to 30,000 miles for free. This is for transfers from one Delta account to another, not transfers from American Express points. Accounts need to be open for at least ten days and have earned at least one mile since opening to be eligible.

Where does the offer show up? I have the delta platinum and not finding it.
Any luck my friend? Please share dp
I transferred to the cardholder account and got the credit
Does the person transferring or receiving the miles have to be the card owner for the amex offer added card?
Would be more useful if Delta had sharing or free transfers like real programs that don’t hate their customers.
As a parent with young children that accumulate miles that are difficult to use, this is actually somewhat useful!
It’s free to transfer at that price.
Do we know that buying airfare codes differently? Someone suggested that above. It’s probably unlikely, but I’m giving that a test run. Bought a refundable $338 ticket last night.
Does this work only for the Delta skymiles account associated with the person having the Amex Card? P1 has Amex Card. P2 uses P1’s card (spouse) to transfer to P3 (child). Will it trigger the Amex offer?
Who is going to be the DP we seek lol?
$75 for 2500 miles, lol. And that includes a 25% bonus!
I believe it does count, but it’s good policy to always spend the extra over. If you spend almost exactly to the SUB amount then never touch the card, they might not approve you again. It happened to me years ago when I first started playing the game. Since then, I’m always sure to spend a little more, use each card every once in a while, etc.
What is the smallest size (in dollar value) experiment that you could do to test this?
Don’t screw around with this for small amounts, always assume that it’s not going to count towards it down the road (meaning they’ll pull it back or some other shenanigans).
You may as well try
Codes the same way
this is what I am waiting to see as well
Delta codes Buy and Transfer as Delta purchases. They trigger 5x on Amex Plat. With Delta IT, wouldn’t doubt if a ticket purchase or Buy Miles would also trigger this.
Keep climbing!
Agreed however in my case using as a free transfer tool to be the point from P2 to P1. P1 holds the Amex Delta card so using the 30k transferred from P1 account translates to 34,500 points. Not alot but for zero cost I’ll take the 4500 points.
No reason it should not. I executed this same scenario earlier today with the expectation that it will work with no issues.
I used this with my no-fee Delta Blue, to move my pithy amount of Sky Pesos to my spouse’s similar small amount of Sky Pesos, with a total of 7K miles. Who knows, someday might fly basic economy somewhere…..
Any thoughts if this would work if transferring miles from P2’s account to cardholder account (P1) and paying via P1’s card?
So funny that this offer shows up for my Delta branded card but does not show up under Platinum. Duh!
Does anybody know if spend that is rebated via offers still counts towards SUBs? Or is it just the net, which in this case would be $0 for the first $330? P2 does not need my Delta miles, but if it could be a free $330 towards SUB I would consider it.
Sounds like a sad attempt to gauge interest in a new card benefit or Medallion benefit but too scared to run a relevant test.
They don’t
This gets the award for the most bizarre Amex Offer ever
Did I hallucinate that Delta reduced their fee for transferring miles to 0.05 cents last year? But now it’s back to 1 cent
That is a great question, not sure
