Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Simple checking has no monthly fees to worry about.
Early Account Termination Fee
I wasn’t able to find a fee schedule so unsure if there is any EATF.
Our Verdict
Don’t think we have ever seen a personal bonus, but there was a business bonus for $2,000. This personal bonus seems worth doing especially if you can refer a few people. We will add it to our best bank account bonuses once we know more. Please do not share referrals in the comments below. You can use this linked post.

It should be via regular mail. Otherwise, they would have said virtual reward card and explained that it would be delivered via email, like what Wings CU has been doing.
Anyone know how to Mastercard reward card is sent? Is it via email or regular mail?
Why do you say that?
Same for me. Miraculously they spared me and unrestricted my account after asking for ID verification.
That was certainly a misunderstanding and misinterpretation of my comment, so please allow me to clarify. I knew the situation from the beginning, I never said anything about it until your post. I brought it up now for a meaningful discussion because: (1) I felt it’s something you might have missed, so I wanted to bring it to your attention so that you could take preventive measures if you are interested; (2) it would be an interesting and valuable DP that will help deepen our outstanding of ReferLive as I said if you decide to stick with it; (3) or if you want to minimize the risk, I would follow up and suggest that you reach out to 007 to confirm; and if 007 hasn’t opened a personal account yet, you could advise them to open one immediately to help both of you (i.e., 007 would receive $200 plus the reward from referring you, and you should be safe for your $100). But I understand where you came from. In hindsight, I should have just kept my mouth shut. With your persmission, I will request Will to delete our conversations following your post to avoid any potential misunderstanding.
That’s a good point, they may just have a business account AFAIK, so hopefully I do get a ReferLive bonus. However, at the risk of being rude, I feel like it’s necessary to point out there may be a conflict of interest in you saying so—you’ve been getting a lot of referrals for testing the personal bonus and then reposting it. Hopefully no ulterior motive.
Not sure if 007 has a personal account with Regent as well. I believe most likely 007 opened a Regent business account in 2024 . The referral T&C does not specify who are eligible to refer others (it does not even say the referrer has to be an existing account holder, and anyone can register to generate their referral link even if they do not have an account). It will be interesting to see whether the referral will work if the referring person only has a business account (especially if it is for an LLC or S Corp). I haven’t seen such DPs.
Positive restriction update! (My prior comment about opening here ) I opened the account mid-July with others during a wave, and also like others’ it was shown as “restricted” the next day. I put off contacting them proactively about it in the fear that if I pushed for a decision it would not be in my favor, and also so as to have to do less work. By the beginning of this month though Regent still hadn’t contacted me about it, so I asked what the next step was via SM. Fraud team rep asked for photos of the front and back of my ID, which I sent via that chat, and then they unrestricted my account the next day. OOS so it wasn’t location that made the difference. Possibly time and less pressure. I also got my referral from a long-established member, 007 (who’d been the source of the information that Regent Bank had accepted OOS accountholders in the past) if that was looked at at all.
Thank you. My account has been good.
I did use your referral so hopefully you are still GTG.
Nice!
P1 and P2 opened accounts on 7/15. Instant approval. Like others, accounts went to restricted. After seeing folks being shut down after reaching out the the bank, decided to let it play it’s course. Checked accounts this morning and they are no longer restricted. They were still restricted a few days ago when I last checked. Going to complete the requirements and hope for the best.
This is usually what I do for disputes, goes pretty well https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ivy-bank-200-savings-bonus-2500-required-for-60-days-via-finder/#comment-2336671
7/15 Opened and funded account Set up direct deposit 7/31 got a check in the mail with initial deposit and letter saying my account was closed
Sometimes, but YMMV. Case study: Regent Bank has $2 billion in assets. Source: https://www.depositaccounts.com/banks/regent-bank.html Let’s compare this one: https://www.depositaccounts.com/banks/san-francisco-cu.html San Fran FCU has $1.5 billion in assets and is paying out nearly $900 bonuses to those that got in early. DP’s: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ca-only-san-francisco-federal-credit-union-up-to-888-checking-bonus/ Problem was that too much was done too quick this time. Also, there was no referral angle at SFFCU.
Thanks for your unsolicited opinion.
these small ass banks are waste of time.
Finally got a notice on the account of a “Force Pay Debit” where they’re going to mail me a check with my initial deposit. The memo line says ‘Account Closure’ what a waste of time.
Applied 7/18, in state. Guess I’ll get my decline notice on the 29th
I received my decline email just now and I submitted the app on 07/16.
bank rolla @ bank rolla Thanks
I still can login to the account and view my account balance. I have not received any notification or email saying my account is blocked/restricted. I also don’t see any flag. I just added an external account and plan on transferring some of the money once I direct deposit into the account. Will keep you updated.

P2 finally received a denial email yesterday 7/24 after applying 7/15 P1 account still open but Restricted. $25 initial funding posted earlier this week. Gonna sit on it and see how long it takes them to close my account or reach out at all.
Oh. Maybe I did. I signed up for a few banks this week so I got confused. My apologies.
In case you are not aware, for ReferLive programs, you can register with a referral link after your account is already opened (but before completing the referral bonus requirements) and still qualify for the referral bonus. Edit: looks like you actually used a referral link to sign up based on your comment history.
Yup, still unrestricted. I didn’t use a referral link when I signed up.
Hi Michael, if you don’t mind my asking, what’s the current status of your account ? Is it still unrestricted ? Also, did you apply using the referral link from ShawntheShawn ? Thanks
I now see a debit of my initial funding amount and my balance went back down to $0. So I guess, they are working on the checks now
They closed my account before the initial funding was credited. I used a debit card to fund it, and the charge posted at my originating bank, but the funds never reached Regent Bank. When I called, they said the application showed the funding transaction as “failed.” I filed a dispute with my originating bank and submitted an FDIC complaint. Overall, the experience has been very frustrating.
