Probably just needed to get “text” added to your phone number in the bank profile. I had no issues.
7/2 – Opened and Zelled in $500 7/10, 8/6, 9/3 – Relay ACHs of $500+ 10/6 $300 Bonus pending I hated having to get a phone call for every log in and aggregator update for this bank. Did I make a wrong choice at some point in the application, or is that the only way they do verifications?
No. I actually plan to do that this week.
I’m a pretty introverted person who doesn’t like to talk on the phone but I’ll do it. I’ve seen so many people who won’t talk on the phone but they’re super outgoing. Lol
Submitted an app today and received “Thank You! Your contact request has been submitted successfully. A representative will be contacting you soon.” No email or any type of follow up or alert yet.
I have family members that will not do incredibly easy bonuses if there’s so much of the slightest chance they have to talk to the bank on the phone lol. Or if it’s known that one day they’ll have to call to close the account they just wont. It’s frustrating.
that’s right. P1 and P2 received bonus earlier with real DD in 3 calendar months each but failed for P3.
So out of curiosity did your P3 do June, then two in July, nothing in August?
it has to be each calendar month, not statement period. My P3 didn’t get bonus since we did 2 real DD in July month although in separate statement months. Will be closing my account soon.
I feel you on the “per month” terms. I’m doing the Sovereign Bank promo. I stupidly didn’t read the terms carefully before I jumped on it and opened at the end of August. Luckily the banker clarified the requirements are evaluated for 30-day periods as the “months”.
I have to deal with this with Amex because I have two biz checking accounts in separate logins and can’t move one to the other login. Super annoying
Separate mobile app is nice. It’s annoying when they only have one app but separate logins for biz/personal.
Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if it was ass. But tbh some of the best banks for payroll pushes have god-awful IT (e.g. Fulton Bank) so it may be worth it! Lol Note that Schertz actually has an entirely separate mobile app for biz accounts. Unusual but not unheard of (Hancock Whitney). Thus far, no contact back from Schertz. I will keep you updated.
Thanks Discover it Student Plus keep us posted. The ACH Origination page mentions it being “cost-effective”, so I’m guessing it’s not free… Their online/mobile banking experience for personal accounts is extremely lackluster, so I’d imagine the same for business
These guys seem to actually have a decent business checking account. https://www.schertzbank.com/business/business-products/business-checking#economy-business-checking No minimum balance. Maintenance fee waiver criteria: “$20.00 maintenance fee each month – Waived with 150 or less transactions per month (total debits + credits)” And has ACH origination (which means potentially useful for DD faking). I couldn’t find a fee schedule so I did the banker contact form to ask more about it, they have yet to get back to me at this time.
Finally got account opened, sharing a DP from OOS, California. 7/11 – contact form submitted 7/16 – contact form re-submitted since no one contacted me 7/17 – rep emailed me paper app, requested ID docs. I asked for Sharefile upload link 7/20 – Sharefile link provided, I upload app, DL, utility bill; rep schedules phone call 7/21 – phone call to go over expected ACH in/out, mobile app access, wires, debit card, etc. and further docs (I opt for DocuSign over paper). I submit DocuSign for account agreement, beneficiaries, overdraft 7/22 – secure emailed with log-in information and account number Chex and EQ/TU/EX frozen throughout. Pretty drawn out and tedious process. Phone call went over at least 10 questions, so although a few folks mention responding via email, I imagine it’d take much longer. Too much work for P2. During the call, I asked to verify promo enrollment and rep said it’s basically automatic enrollment for the account type and they’ll review DDs after 90 days.
And don’t stress about them. I was not so sure myself initially but they are pretty lax with this. Haven’t seen any DPs of trouble.
I will second Tom’s point, I had pretty random dates which I honestly don’t remember. Account closed in April. but it was something between 10-13th of the month IITRC.
mine was weird. The first few days they issued the first statement 3-10 to 3-13. The next statement started 3-14 to 4-14. I didn’t know what the statement dates would be by looking anywhere on the dashboard, just found out by logging in after the email alert for a statement.
Seems kind of similar to Texana where there’s no consistent rule of thumb to people’s statement periods.
Tom MacDonald Super Pirate formerly SP 🔗 how do we see/know our statement dates? I don’t seem to have anything (yet). It didn’t occur to me they wouldn’t be calendar months, because I rushed to Chase Biz by June 30th shortly after opening. I’ve already done another Chase Biz in July but I see now it’s possible I’m actually within the same statement period still lol.
I opened account 3-10. Got a statement 3-10 to 3-13 (they did not count this one). Zero balance. 3-14 to 4-14. 4-15 to 5-14. 5-15 to 6-15. I am not sure if you can see statement dates before. My P2 statements started the day the account was opened and went 30 days forward, unlike mine where I got a 4 day statement at the beginning. Jim
Thanks Tom MacDonald Is there a way to see my statement dates before the cycle ends? That is, before the e-statement generates? I’ll ACH funds in within days, just to be safe
Thanks Super Pirate formerly SP 🔗 I’m afraid I’ve only used Zelle a handful of times, so am still not understanding. It’s alright, since it sounds like ACH works
Agreed, even though bankers insist on the initial zelle/check funding, based on DPs here many didn’t do the initial funding for days and still got the bonus without any hiccups.
I didn’t get my funding in there for 10 days and I still got the bonus 91 days after opening. Just watch the statement dates because they are not 1st-30th. I made sure to do my dd within the statement cycle and also within the calander month.
You can use either your phone number or email address for Schertz. The account you send from can use the other. Why would your identity verification come into question after your account is fully verified and opened by the banker bcoz Zelle enrollment.
Looking to join the party and apply. It sounds like many folks are funding right after opening via Zelle. Reading the comments, it sounds like I need to use a different email or phone number — do I have to do this on the application docs? Like should I use an alternative email or phone for the application so I can send myself a Zelle payment? I’m concerned that this would fail identity verification if they don’t match what’s on my EWS/credit reports. I’ve only used Zelle a handful of times, but never to myself, so am not familiar with things. Wonder if I can just ACH push the $500, instead; it’d just be 2-3 days after opening… Thanks

Maybe something changed since James and I signed up? Good on them for tightening up on security though
