The Offer
Direct link to offer (if you use this link $5-$35 will be donated to our charity partner. We receive $0 to remain unbiased)
- Finder is offering a $300 digital reward when you open a new Varo Money account and complete the following requirements:
- Receive a direct deposit of $500+ within 35 days of account opening
- Keep the account open and in good standing through the fulfillment date (December 10, 2026)
The Fine Print
- Promotion Period means the period beginning September 10, 2026 and ending on October 9, 2026, unless otherwise extended, modified, suspended, or withdrawn by Finder in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- Initial Participation Requirements means the Entrant’s application for and opening of a new eligible Varo Bank Account through the Finder.com promotional link during the Promotion Period and the Entrant’s completion of the First Eligible Direct Deposit requirement within the applicable 35-day qualification window.
- Qualifying Event means successfully opening a new eligible Varo Bank Account through the Finder.com promotional link during the Promotion Period, making and receiving a First Eligible Direct Deposit of $500 USD or more within 35 days of opening the Varo Bank Account, and keeping the Varo account open and in good standing through the Fulfillment Date.
- First Eligible Direct Deposit means a recurring deposit of regular income, including payroll, pension, or government agency payments, made into the eligible Varo Bank Account via the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network, where the Entrant’s first direct deposit is $500 USD or more and is received within 35 days of opening the Varo Bank Account. Deposits that are not from an employer or government agency, including but not limited to check deposits, peer-to-peer transfers (e.g., transfers from PayPal, Venmo, or similar services), merchant transactions (e.g., transactions from PayPal, Stripe, Square, or similar services), and bank ACH funds transfers and wire transfers from external accounts, or that are non-recurring in nature (e.g., IRS tax refunds) do not constitute a First Eligible Direct Deposit. Promotional credits, referral bonuses, incentive payments from Varo, internal account transfers from existing Varo accounts, returned or reversed deposits, chargebacks, and failed deposits also do not qualify as a First Eligible Direct Deposit. For clarity, if the Entrant’s first direct deposit is less than $500 USD, the Entrant will not qualify for the Reward, and a later direct deposit of $500 USD or more will not satisfy this requirement.
- Reward means the $300 Finder reward, issued as a promotional digital reward, gift card, reward link, prepaid card, or other digital fulfillment option through Tremendous, provided solely by Finder and not by Varo. The Reward is paid only after Finder verifies that the Entrant has satisfied all eligibility requirements, including successful opening of a new eligible Varo account through the Finder.com promotional link and completion and maintenance of the Qualifying Event.
- Eligibility Date means the date or dates on which Finder verifies whether all eligibility requirements have been met. For this Promotion, the Eligibility Date is November 10, 2026.
- Fulfillment Date means, for each Entrant, the date on which Finder issues, or expects to issue, the Reward to that Entrant, as described in Section 5. Finder expects to issue Rewards on or before December 10, 2026. All references in these Terms and Conditions to “the Fulfillment Date” with respect to an Entrant mean that Entrant’s applicable Fulfillment Date.
- New Customer means any individual or entity who does not currently hold an active account with Varo and has not been a primary or joint owner of any account, profile, or established service relationship with Varo Bank, N.A., or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries (collectively, “Varo Entities”). Accounts closed with a negative balance, accounts closed due to bank-, platform-, or provider-initiated termination, accounts closed due to suspected fraud or abuse, or accounts otherwise deemed ineligible by Varo also disqualify an applicant from being considered a New Customer.
- In the case of a joint account application, all named account holders must independently meet the definition of a New Customer for the account to be eligible for the Promotion. For the avoidance of doubt, only one (1) Reward will be awarded per new eligible Varo Bank Account opened, regardless of the number of joint owners or participants.
- Eligibility is cross-referenced across all Varo product lines. If Varo records indicate that an Entrant has an existing profile, account, or service relationship of any type, including a Varo Bank Account, Varo Savings, Varo Advance, Varo Believe credit-builder card, or Varo line of credit, prior to clicking the Finder link, the Entrant will be deemed ineligible for the Reward, regardless of whether the Entrant is opening a Varo Bank Account for the first time.
- Good Faith Participation means participating in the Promotion in a manner consistent with these Terms and Conditions and the intended operation of the Promotion. Finder may determine that an Entrant has not engaged in Good Faith Participation where Finder reasonably believes, based on available records, Partner-provided data, account activity, device or identity signals, support communications, documentation submitted by the Entrant, or other relevant information, that the Entrant has attempted to obtain the Reward without satisfying the substance of the Promotion requirements.
- Conduct that may indicate a lack of Good Faith Participation includes, without limitation: withdrawing, transferring out, or reducing the qualifying deposit or balance below the required $500 threshold before the Fulfillment Date; closing or attempting to close the Varo account before the Fulfillment Date; opening and closing an account in rapid succession; using or attempting to use multiple Finder accounts, email addresses, devices, identities, household members, business entities, account applications, or other means to obtain more than one Reward under this or any related Promotion; submitting incomplete, inaccurate, altered, fabricated, or misleading information or documentation; using bot, automated, scripted, incentivized, coordinated, or collusive activity; engaging in behavior that causes or is intended to cause inaccurate tracking, duplicate attribution, or duplicate reward claims; or otherwise attempting to game, exploit, circumvent, or defeat the eligibility requirements or intended operation of the Promotion.
- For clarity, separate individuals residing in the same household who each independently satisfy all eligibility requirements, including the New Customer requirement, may each receive one (1) Reward. The household-related conduct described above is directed at a single person’s use of household members, identities, or accounts as proxies to obtain multiple Rewards.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees

Issues With Finder
While Finder does make donations to our chosen charity partner we do not receive any commission from them and gain nothing personally if you do use our links apart from the donations being made. Readers have had a lot of issues with Finder tracking and paying out other deals, I would strongly recommend reading the comments on other Finder posts to get a feel for the issues encountered. I personally find it hard to recommend doing any bonuses through Finder at the moment due to both the issues, how the issues have been handled and how they have communicated with users. I do think they are trying their best to improve the situation but I haven’t seen anything that makes me think those issues have been meaningfully resolved.
Ultimately we post deals for people to make up their own minds but I thought it was worth adding this large and clear disclaimer.
Our Verdict
There is a $200 referral bonus, these offers will not stack. Varo has basically shut down publicly sharing those referrals by adding this to the terms:
Each Sender may refer up to five Referees for a Bonus each calendar year–you acknowledge and agree if you complete the Offer, but are not one of the first five Referees from a single Sender to do so, you will not receive a Bonus
People have also had issues with Varo paying out bonuses before that language was added as well. Given the issues with Varo and the issues with Finder I personally wouldn’t recommend doing this bonus in its current form and won’t be adding it to the list of the best checking bonuses. Ultimately it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the risk and time/effort involved. As always I will try to communicate with the Finder team if readers do run into issues and advocate for the people who do decide to go for it.

F.A.Q’s
When will my bonus post?
Finder terms state ‘Reward issued on or before December 10, 2026′
Is it possible to get this bonus multiple times (churn)?
Finder clearly states it’s valid for new customers only and also defines a new customer:
New Customer means any individual or entity who does not currently hold an active account with Varo and has not been a primary or joint owner of any account, profile, or established service relationship with Varo Bank, N.A., or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries (collectively, “Varo Entities”).

Same. I already did this month’s DD as somewhat unsure whether or not we have to “continue” the DD through December.
Account still open after making DD. No cancel so far and Finder status went from “not eligible” to “validating”, so hopefully it’ll pay out smoothly, unlike Axos
Is it common to continually received direct deposit e-mail/pop up reminders from Varo after already successfully doing DD? The purple tracker bar “get early payday and more with direct deposit” is displaying the amount, when I click into that section, it has a green box top left saying “active” and clicking into “see full deposit history” I have “Payroll 100% of total” on the graph. However, despite that the app continually pops up reminding me to set up direct deposit, and they’ve e-mailed me constantly about, including another e-mail literally right now as I type this: “One last step to unlock early pay and more. You’ve already started. Finish your direct deposit setup now to unlock Varo’s best benefits — starting with early payday.”
This is what the Varo terms and conditions say at the top when I click on Varo in my pending rewards. “ Must read The Varo reward is currently paused while we work out an issue with our partner. We hope to be back live soon! If you completed all eligibility requirements before the pause on Sep 17, 2026, you’re still eligible and will receive the reward once we’ve completed an eligibility verification on our end.”
Have you tried using a different email address with Finder and Varo? Maybe Varo may let you if you use a different email address.
Why closed instantly?
Does this bank ever officially tell you they’ve opened your account? I applied last night (never had an account before) and after DL scan and selfie, it gave me a message that basically in review/pending and it’d be 1-2 business days. However, immediately after that I see my account and routing numbers in the app (because it has you create a login before finishing your application). Also, in the app, I have a digital debit card that it let me add to my Google Wallet. I also received an e-mail that my debit card is on the way. I guess it’s open, just weird to not have an official welcome e-mail. I received an e-mail from Finder “We’re tracking your $300 Varo reward status” and on the Finder site last night it had some status along the lines of “we’ll check in with Varo periodically to make sure” or some such, pretty sure with a light yellow box, but now today it merely shows “tracked click” (which is worded less confidently than what I saw last night but can’t remember the exact wording).
F U FINDER
Typical varo account opened and closed instantly
Can I close if currently open and open a new one or is it anti churning for this one
SKOL VIKES :D.
No go it looks like, Varo won’t let me use the same email as my closed account to sign up. Tried a different phone number but didn’t help. And can’t use a different email than what’s associated with Finder.
No issues so far here either with the couple of the Finder offers I’ve attempted FWIW. A WeBull promotion paid out (although the hold period was longer than I originally thought, but that’s probably on me), and an eToro bonus tracked and is pending. I think it’s technically not supposed to stack with a native offer from eToro, so we’ll see what happens when the reward issue date comes. Had a Varo account some years back, debating if I want to take a chance churning this. DD requirements don’t seem too onerous so probably going to try it just for kicks. Seems like these fintechs are usually more on the ball when it comes to checking and enforcing stuff like this, though.
you must receive a minimum of first payroll deposit of $500 in Varo and keep direct deposit active until fulfillment date… it depend on how you interpret that I guess. It doesn’t say subsequent deposits must be over 500. I would keep the deposits looking “real”. But a dollar might technically qualify.
So can we make the $500 direct deposit then switch to $1 direct deposits and we need to keep $500 in the account?
no chime. they have onepay but only for 75 so better offers are elsewhere.
anyone have an idea if fidelity will work for DD?
You are definitely in the minority here.
paid for me
Varo didn’t pay out for me using WISE as fake DD 😕
Always nice to have more offerwalls. Do they have Chime on there, and if so, for how much?
Am I the only one that has had no issue with Varo and/or Finder? Between me and P2, we’ve both maxed out both Varo Bank $500 referrals with no issues in cashing out after referral bonus landed in our accounts. For Finder, we’ve had no issues with the eToro or Webull offers. Even though the Axos Bank promotion with Finder ended up having some confusions at first due to old/new terms of conditions, both me and P2 ended up still getting the $300 giftcard payout after some patience and correspondence with their customer support. I may be in the minority here, but I plan on continuing to use Finder and look forward to their future promotions.
Daily reminder that Finder is a scam and won’t pay out.
Would rather have a picnic with those Somali pirates than do another deal with Finder
did you do fake dd or something else? why is finder paying some and not others?
so does anyone know if we need to maintain a $500 balance or just keep the direct depositting every time and at what cadence….confusing language
As others have said, Finder put us through a lot of BS to get the most recent Axos payout. But I’m willing to try this because there’s little risk and not too much effort. Signup was pretty fast and easy. I disabled all Chrome extensions and used Windows snipping tool to record the entire signup process, including clicking the link from Finder, to ensure there’s no ambiguity about whether I got there via the Finder link. Here’s an archive of the promotion terms: https://archive.md/yO9OI As DontTrustHim observed, you need to leave the $500 there for 3 months. Also, here’s an odd clause in the terms to be aware of: “if the Entrant’s first direct deposit is less than $500 USD, the Entrant will not qualify for the Reward, and a later direct deposit of $500 USD or more will not satisfy this requirement.” Also: you’re not eligible if you’ve signed up for any Varo product in the past (unlike normal account bonuses, where churning is limited by specific account types) If you’re trying to set up direct deposit, I recommend not using their default ‘set up direct deposit’ button, which will try to make you look up your employer. Instead go to “My Varo” / “Manage Cards and Account” / “Account Numbers” to get the usual account/routing numbers.
I got $400 from finder on the Airwallex deal.
Sounds like you have to maintain a regular direct deposit: you must receive a minimum of first payroll deposit of $500 in Varo and keep direct deposit active until fulfillment date on December 10, 2026 to qualify for the rewards
There about 5 different possible emails to trying when following up about them wrongly denying the Axos promotion (see comments on that DOC page). I only got payout once I tried the fifth one (with proof I had completed the requirements) and waited a month…. so it may still be possible for you. In addition to BBB, a CFPB complaint may get their attention more effectively as well. (BBB is just a private company with an official sounding name, where the CFPB is an actual government agency)
