Our posts on the best bank account bonuses and best credit card bonuses are some of the most popular on the site, recently I’ve been trying to post more brokerage bonuses as I know some people use these to make some extra money and it helps them grow their investments. This post will be for the best brokerage bonuses, I’m relatively new to these so I’d welcome your input on bonuses we might have missed and any relevant important information you think should be included. Unlike other sites we don’t use affiliate links for brokerage bonuses so you can ensure you’re getting the best possible deal, rather than the one that pays us the most.

TradeUp – $2,000 Bonus + Free Stocks (12 Month+ Hold)

Get $1,000 with $50,000 transfer or $2,000 with $100,000 transfer. Also a very nice stock bonus with different tiers which stacks with the $1k-$2k bonus.

J.P. Morgan/Chase – $1,000 (90 Day Hold)

J.P. Morgan Chase Self-directed has a bonus of $1,000 with $250,000 asset transfer. There are other tiers as well.

Merrill – $1,000+ (90 Day Hold)

Merrill has a bonus of $1,000 with $250,000 asset transfer with a 90 day hold. There’s also a way to get $1,500 with $500,000 and more tiers with a 9 month hold, details in this post.

Citi Wealth Management – Up To $5,000 (1-3 Month Hold)

Moomoo $1,000+ Deposit Bonus (60-180 Day Hold)

Moomoo $600+ ACATS Bonus (12 Month Hold)

E*Trade – Up To $10,000 (12 Month Hold)

The $10,000 tier requires $5M transfer. There are lots of other tiers as well. Notably, there is a $50 tier with $1,000 deposit which is an easy bonus for a lot of people. (Separately, there’s an offer from E*Trade for existing users for retirement accounts with a bonus of up to $20,000. That one also has many different tiers.)

Public Brokerage – 1% Match (5 Year Hold)

Betterment – $1,500 (3 Year Hold)

There are various tiers. The $1,500 bonus requires $200,000 in brokerage or IRA funds. There is also a 3 year hold. 

TradeStation – $3,500 (270 Day Hold)

Hold period is 270 days. There is also a $150 bonus that only requires $5,000 for 60 days. 

Schwab – Up to $1,000 (One Year Hold)

This offer is for new Schwab members who get referred from a friend; ask a friend who is an existing Schwab member. Largest bonus of $1,000 requires an investment of $500,000+.

Plynk – Up To $500 Annually

Plynk (owned by Fidelity) offers a 25%/50% match on dividends earned in the brokerage account. Capped at $250/$500 annually, depending whether you pay the $3.99 monthly fee. This offer is open-ended and can potentially last for many years.

IRA-only Bonuses

Robinhood 1-3% IRA Contribution Match (5 Year Hold)

This bonus is limited due to the annual contribution limits to IRAs. Robinhood Gold members get a 3% match and everyone else gets 1%.

WeBull 3-3.5% IRA Transfer/Contribution Match (5 Year Hold)

3.5% for transfers and 3% for contributions. Requires WeBull Premium for first 12 months. 

Ally Invest 3.5% IRA Contribution Match (2 Year Hold)

Firstrade – 2%/3% IRA Bonus (5 Year Old)

E*Trade – Up To $10,000 IRA Bonus (12 Month Hold)

Tiers are lower now than their peak, but still interesting for someone moving over to the brokerage anyway. Example, $200,000 IRA transfer gets $800. There are lots of other tiers as well.

Smaller Bonuses – No Requirement/Little Requirements

There are a number of smaller brokerages that offer sign up bonuses with no deposit requirement. The bonuses are much smaller, but might still be worth picking up for some people.

SoFi Invest – $150
